KENOSHA, Wis. — Connor David Olsen, a current employee of Carthage College who previously resigned from Westosha Central High School in lieu of termination after allegations that he groomed a student, has voluntarily surrendered his Wisconsin school counselor licenses, according to newly discovered state records. According to Carthage College's website, Olsen remains employed by the college. While educators sometimes voluntarily surrender licenses for reasons unrelated to misconduct, such surrenders frequently occur in connection with disciplinary investigations or negotiated resolutions with regulators. In Olsen's case, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction opened an investigation after receiving information related to the allegations that led to his departure from Westosha Central. Carthage officials have previously declined to answer questions from Kenosha County Eye about why the college hired Olsen despite the allegations that led to his departure from the school district.

… shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me !
Just what is wrong with the human resources profession to where simple social media and internet searches don’t show enough of the background of people such as this to where it’s enough to cause employers to pass on an applicant ?
A person such as this needs to have their reputation follow them. Forever. A person who is in charge of or in position of authority over students of any age, even ones in college that technically are legal age, should never be allowed to work in the educational system again !
But as mentioned above, this comes down to the individual hiring practices in this case of a private college. This isn’t a public institution that answers to the taxpayers such as the previous public high school. This is a private institution that answers to parents of these 18, 19, 20 and 21 year old students. Even after the age of 18 college students are still vulnerable to the influences of older people that are in positions of authority at their institution.
This ex counselor is free to go and work in any number of other industries that keep him away from children. Has he ever been convicted of a crime ? Not to anyone’s knowledge. And that three is part of the problem. His time at Westosha Central should have resulted in an arrest. Why didn’t it ?
But it comes down to the human resource profession. Their standards are low. Too low.
Why is that ?
These ugly men make me sick.
