KENOSHA, Wis. — A French teacher told Kenosha Unified School District investigators that he believed Indian Trail Assistant Principal Mercilie Toney was asking him to “do her son a favor” by helping the student obtain French credit for a semester in which he was not enrolled in the class. Superintendent Jeffrey Weiss later told Kenosha County Eye that the allegations were deemed “unsubstantiated,” but none of the records released by the district include any final findings, investigative conclusion, or explanation supporting that determination.

So- is the French teacher being disciplined for lying? Can’t really say he is incompetent, seeing that his pay scale says he has a Masters Degree plus credits…… Seems kinda fishy, almost like they made no attempt to “substantiate the claim”.
This poor whistleblower came forward, and was basically slapped in the face. I wonder how many French teacher there are at that school? Correct, teacher was spelled that way intentionally to show how many…….
If she did try to get that student an unearned credit, that is an abuse of power. However, if the student completed an independent study program with the teacher, then there was likely not any wrongdoing. That actually happens more in the school system than you would think. Yet, it is bizarre that they entered the student into the class at the end of the semester. That raises some eyebrows.
The two questions that need to be answered are:
1-Did the student complete an independent study program with the teacher or through an online platform where credit was earned?
2-How is it that the student was added at the end of the semester given that is not the typical protocol? There are typically add and drop periods that need to be met by students and counselors.
Given how wonderful KUSD has been doing these last few years, I think it would be in Mr. Weiss’ best interest to address those questions for full transparency.
This story is either no big deal, or it is being swept under the rug in the hopes that it will slowly disappear
So is the one French teacher in trouble with KUSD for lying ? What steps did. KUSD take to substantiate this claim?
Hard to say the whistleblower with a masters degree is “so dumb” he didn’t understand what was asked of him.
KUSD NEEDS MORE OF YOUR MONEY!!!
That’s two cases posted today of KUSD admin not believing staff who were reporting inappropriate behavior by other staff. KUSD trying to cover up their inept and criminal staff……
