Area Democrats Celebrate Pardon Of Dangerous Kenosha Felon – Governor Ever’s Most Violent Pardon Yet

Kenosha area democrats took to social media on December 22, 2022 to praise Kenosha resident Sharmain Harris (34). The man known to fellow gang members and police as “Slim,” says he is no longer in a street gang and is a changed man. Harris has a rap sheet that is too expansive to include in any one place, so we will illustrate the most serious crimes here.

Harris has been involved with and suspected of many serious crimes such as shootings, robberies and more, in which there was insufficient evidence to charge him or a victim stopped cooperating, according to police reports.

On August 21, 2007, Sharmain Harris called a friend to come over to a house to hang out. Shortly after the friend arrived, a man in a ski mask entered the house with a loaded gun and robbed Harris’ friend, taking $100, his wallet, and a cell phone. The suspect shot his gun towards Harris’ friend also, but missed. The victim said that Harris set him up for the robbery, because the house was abandoned and didn’t belong to Harris. Also, he said Harris slipped out of the house immediately before the robbery. The suspect used the victim’s debit card many times. In this case, based on information in the police report and in Harris’ pardon application, Harris was charged with one or more crimes. He pled guilty to felony burglary, and was sentenced to one year of probation. A Judge, suspected to be Mary K. Wagner, expunged this felony from Harris’ record. We do not have all of the details because the expungement seals the criminal file.

Harris was charged with two counts of selling real crack and one count of selling fake crack. He was convicted of one count of real crack-selling and one count of fake crack-selling in 2009. Judge Mary K. Wagner (D), arguably the most liberal and soft-on-crime judge in the state, went easy on him, giving him 4 years of probation for the two felony convictions.

Four months after he was caught selling crack, he was charged with six felonies and two misdemeanors for a gang-land assault in the 4600 block of 36th Ave. According to the criminal complaint, and a source, on May 17, 2009, Harris was accused of beating a man with a baseball bat. He then threw a brick through the window of a house hitting a woman and nearly missing a child. Harris was with about 30 other people, all alleged to be members of the same street gang. The Kenosha County DA’s office unbelievably dismissed five felonies and two misdemeanors. He pled guilty to one felony. Believe it or not, Wagner gave him only 2 more years of probation on top of the 4 already imposed. No jail time. It was clear to Kenosha residents at this point the Kenosha DA’s Office and Judge Mary K. Wagner had a secret relationship with Harris. Harris and Wagner exchanged letters and were seemingly pen pals.

In 2011, while still on probation, Harris was charged for yet another incident of violence. He was charged with 1 felony and 3 misdemeanors. According to the criminal complaint, a 6’3″ Harris kicked in the door to his ex-girlfriend’s home and entered it without permission. The victim told police he was upset, looking for crack and money. Turns out, he was still selling drugs. When Harris realized she was on the phone with 9-1-1, he strangled her and dragged her around the home by her throat and hair. He then took the phone, her wallet, and left the home. He was charged with felony strangulation and suffocation as a repeater, battery as a repeater, criminal damage to property as a repeater and theft <= $2,500 as a repeater. Again, the Kenosha County DA’s office dismissed the felony for strangling and suffocating his petite now wife, and he pled guilty to the misdemeanors. This case revoked his probation and sent him to prison for five years and extended supervision for five more years.

After getting out of prison, Kenosha County DA Michael Graveley (D) sent a letter to Judge Mary K. Wagner on January 26, 2016 asking the judge to shorten Harris’ extended supervision so that Harris could apply for a pardon sooner. Governor Evers requires a sentence to be completed for five years before one can be considered for a pardon. Of course, Wagner (D) agreed to this motion.

On March 9, 2020, Harris applied for a pardon. In an application for a pardon, one must include all of the court documents including the criminal complaints – that give the details of the crime. Harris purposefully left out the criminal complaints and only submitted the judgments. This was seemingly to hide the details of his crimes. Also, he applied too early. He didn’t wait the full five years. This denied application was supported, of course by Judge Mary K. Wagner (D), DA Graveley (D), a probation agent named Terra Wendricks , and a DJ named John Hogan III who now works/volunteers for KABA as a mentor.

Fake Endorsements

Harris then started a program called the “Dedicated Dads Program.” He started a website and listed eight endorsements that we learned were all made up. Harris removed all of the endorsements when the organizations asked him to. The only organization that didn’t ask him to remove the fake endorsement was Carthage President John Swallow (D). Harris removed it anyway.

Harris convinced Former County Executive Jim Kreuser (D) and Department of Human Services Director John Jansen (D) to give him more than $112,000 to teach men how to be  dads. The new County Executive, Samantha Kerkman (R) hasn’t said if she will continue the contracts with Harris.

On February 23, 2021, Harris became eligible for the pardon. State Senator Bob Wirch (D) worked with Evers’ office to make sure he didn’t need to reapply. Harris was made to supply the missing criminal complaints.

According to a public records request, Graveley has only supported three pardons in his career. The first, was a man named William Phillips who wanted to be pardoned for selling crack. The second and third, are Harris, and his father, Pastor Monroe Mitchell, who is now being prosecuted by Graveley for repeated sexual assaults of his granddaughter. Graveley has told KCE that this isn’t a conflict of interest. Here is Pastor Monroe’s Record:

1985 Obstruct Officer
1985 Disorderly Conduct
1991 Felony Possession of Controlled Substances
1991 Probation Violation
1991 Probation Violation
1994 Felony Manufacture/ Delivery Crack Cocaine (4 Years Prison)
1997 Domestic Abuse / Domestic Battery
2004 Domestic Abuse / Disorderly Conduct
2022 Repeated Sexual Assault of a Child and Two Counts of Attempted Second Degree (Pending)

Graveley has opposed the pardon of Eric Morgan for one count of felony child abuse. Graveley wrote that the Governor shouldn’t pardon child abuse cases – he believes, however they should be considered for violence against women, adults, and gang members.

During Harris’ pardon hearing on October 14, 2022, he was asked very easy and softball questions. The other candidates, most for petty theft crimes, got hammered with tough questions.

Harris’ Pardon Hearing 10/14/2022

Harris was hired by UW- Parkside as a professor of criminal justice. That is, without a job interview, meeting the qualifications, or submitting an application. We had to sue Chancellor Debbie Ford (D), who hired Harris, to learn all of this. Debbie Ford gave Harris the job as a favor to Graveley, who was also a professor at the college.

On December 22, 2022, Harris announced on Facebook that he had been pardoned. He also sent KCE an email, notifying me of the pardon and calling me fat – kind words from a changed man. He agreed to an interview so we will be reaching out to him shortly to invite him on a podcast. The local liberals went crazy in excitement. The narrative from Harris has always been that he went to prison for selling drugs, he never mentions his many instances of severe violence. We asked all of the people we recognized why they supported the pardon and if they would be “OK” with Harris dating their daughter/niece/or other female family member. Not ONE of the below would comment on their support or say they would be “OK” with Harris dating their daughter. It’s possible that these people like to be woke privately but not publicly. Many of the folks we reached out to didn’t know the extent of Harris’ violence and removed their comments or “likes” and “loves.” We didn’t include them in the list below. Here are some notable democrats that were excited, and supported his pardon:

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers (D)

Just yesterday, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers issued a press release with his most recent 171 pardons. You can read them here. Most are for minor drug or theft felonies – we couldn’t find any violent felonies. Here is the interesting thing: Harris’ name is not on this list. Why not? We asked the governor and he refused to answer. Is he embarrassed? We also asked him last week why he pardoned such a violent criminal. He didn’t answer then either.

Kenosha Alderman David Mau

Harris can now run for public office, something he couldn’t do before. Harris has announced that he wants to run for Alderman in Kenosha’s 8th District. The current Alderman, David Mau had the following to say about the challenge:

“Repeat violent felons shouldn’t be pardoned so quickly or be able to purchase and own a firearm. Non-violent offenders are better choices for a pardon, but it’s not a surprise coming from Evers who enabled violent criminals to destroy our city in 2020. Kenosha citizens have been clear when asking for more police and safety. Mr. Harris’ past doesn’t seem to fit that bill. But he would be a welcomed opponent if he chose to run for alderman in 2024, and I wish him the best in his new endeavors.”

A pardon does not remove the felonies from Harris’ record, but instead only restores a few of his rights. He likely cannot posses a firearm still because of his violent domestic violence misdemeanors.

  1. His name wasn’t on the governor’s list? Hmmm. Methinks there will be another open records request. That should be disclosed.

  2. Democrats are what’s wrong with society … They all need to be purged from office !!! Cancer of America the Democrat Party!!!!

  3. Makes you wonder what this guy has in his Hip Pocket. I wonder if what’s left of the Kenosha news would have the courage to even mildly complain about this sad State of Affairs?. Any sane person running for office in Kenosha should keep your giant list of future Rogues Gallery names in mind and use them frequently in their campaign literature. We have to stop putting foxes in charge of the hen house

  4. Your claim that DJ John Hogan ll is or was an employee of Kenosha.com is not true. He’s never been an employee of Kenosha.com. If you care to be more accurate in your article I can be contacted very easily and I’ll straighten you out on this.

  5. I’m not suprised to see the finest of Kenosha political community accounted for in this article. You get what you for for Kenosha ! you want people who support and further the lively hoods of career criminals then the attached list rings true for the mindset of this community. Socalist are alive and thriving in Kenosha.

  6. Scrap that statement about Kenosha being the new Gary Indiana, it’s really just North Chicago Lite. I was surprised to see the Rev. Coleman and his wife weren’t on the list of endorsements.

Maybe this cat is the Judges brother too?!

Remember to greet each other with big hugs at church!

  7. Oh look! Another fine, upstanding, uniquely qualified Democrat running for office in Kenosha! I’m sure he’ll win with all those great supporters listed here.
Good grief are Kenoshans too stupid to see what Democrats are doing to destroy this city?

  8. So basically DA Gravely, Governor Evers, and the supporters say-
All of my these black victims lives, safety, injury, PTSD, and I can only assume countless African American children exposed to the violence this dirtbag has carried out… “doesn’t matter”… I’m pretty sure BLACK LIVES MATTER… because the victims had black skin…. I’ve seen it written a time or two.. heard it chanted… do they not matter anymore? I’m just trying to keep up with the times…maybe Gravely, or Evers can specify who black lives supposed to matter to, or they don’t have to matter to??
And I reckon, to clarify- who said they didn’t matter besides Evers and Graveley?? Maybe this sharmaij lady can tell all us dummies….

  9. Imagine being a felon, selling drugs and beating women, shooting at people yet the people that support you riot and cry for justice. This hypocrisy world we live in is just insane and will only get crazier. Watch this felon be the next mayor

    1. Hey Andy who cares !! If it was just you dry white people life would be boring. We need gangsters and thugs for are economy remember that it’s a system. Be lucky you’re not caught in it.

      1. You just read an article about it! Learned of a job “given” to this felon. That’s not going to happen to some white guy.

Black Privilege= Over representation now in all of media, cannot have a tv show, movie or news cast without a black lead- 13% of population , 50% on my TV. Where are the Hispanic and Asian representation?

And apparently it’s accepted that Blacks can only achieve to a lower standard than the rest of us. I don’t agree to it but society sure looks like it has.

Different set of rules, passes, exceptions, excuses, for Blacks. Why?

I hold everyone to the same standard because EVERYONE is capable of the same achievements regardless of the color of the skin. Yeah sure, you can have a crap upbringing or live in a crap location But that doesn’t mean you have to end up crap. All those that come from $ or great upbringings don’t always turn into great people either.

It’s a choice. Let’s stop making excuses and exceptions for certain people of color. Otherwise THAT is a privilege.

        1. Tell me how something that happened 150 years ago or even 60 years ago made it so you CANNOT learn in schools the same as all the other races do?

Tell me how something that happened 150 years ago stopped you from graduating from high school or college TODAY?

Especially TODAY, it’s clear if there is a Black male or female that has any bit of sense and education (yes there are plenty!) that they can write their own ticket for success as EVERY business is seeking to “diversify” and promote Blacks as fast as possible so they can seem less racist and calm the woke cries for equality!

I still like when some smart guy said something about judging based on “content of character and not color of skin”

Boy have we really swapped that around. And if you can’t see it you are foolish.

Have low and different expectations and they will be achieved.

Establish high and standard expectations and WE ALL Flourish.

          1. 70% PLUS NBA and NFL are Black players. Nobody complaining about not enough whites in these sports.

70% Plus Hockey and Golf are white players. Blacks complain they need to diversify these sports. Even though TV audience in these sports is less than 4% Black. But GD diversify it!

            Don’t get it.

  10. What exactly do we “need” gangsters and thugs for??? So do we “need” rapists? Or child molesters???
Society doesn’t “need” any of those…. We just need a hole to bury them in….

  11. I’m wondering if his small child is filing a tax return for his business? Only responsible people pay taxes, others, they sell drugs, beat women. Let’s see the youngsters tax returns.

  12. Kevin, can you please write an article about the attempted indoctrination of students in KUSD schools? On January 10th, the School Board is holding a committee meeting on whether to allow BLM or pride flags in the classroom. Your platform could help keep grooming out of our local schools

        1. “In the first place God made idiots. This was for practice. Then he made School Boards.”
          -Mark Twain

    1. Name one thing that makes it racist? You’re upset that people are upset a felon of multiple felonies was pardoned and people are mad? Or you don’t see the hypocrisy of the left wanting to fire and close business, and be woke, and have their justice, but only when it benefits them? Careful you’re mistaking the word racism with your hypocrisy. Hypocrite

      1. Yeah hypocrite! Trump is in the White House and he’s a felon! And he continues to break the law and bribes from anyone who can afford it! Hy

  13. There is another connection to Parkside as well. Terra Wendricks, mentioned as a supporter of his parole, works for the State and is also listed as a professor in the Criminal Justice Program at UW-Parkside.

Scary they have sketchy people in high positions helping to put criminals back on the street.
