67-Year-Old Woman On Moped Seriously Injured After Collision with SUV

On Friday, 06/14/24, at 6:36 p.m. the Kenosha Police Department and the Kenosha Fire Department responded to an accident that occurred at the intersection of 78^th Street and 15^th Avenue.

Witnesses indicated that the operator of moped was traveling south on 15^th Avenue when she was struck by an SUV that was eastbound on 78^th Street. The operator of the moped was a 67-year-old female who was taken to a hospital in Milwaukee by helicopter.

The Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) responded to investigate the accident. The driver of the SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The roadway was closed for almost 3 hours.

“On June 14th, our hostess Maggie Lulewicz was struck by an SUV while she was on her moped. Maggie is in critical condition with a head injury and several broken bones. I looked on google maps. there are no stop signs at that intersection.There is a yield sign.A person on a moped is low to the ground and lesser visibility to be seen.
