On Friday, 06/14/24, at 6:36 p.m. the Kenosha Police Department and the Kenosha Fire Department responded to an accident that occurred at the intersection of 78th Street and 15th Avenue.
Witnesses indicated that the operator of moped was traveling south on 15th Avenue when she was struck by an SUV that was eastbound on 78th Street. The operator of the moped was a 67-year-old female who was taken to a hospital in Milwaukee by helicopter.
The Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) responded to investigate the accident. The driver of the SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The roadway was closed for almost 3 hours.
According to the injured woman’s boss:
“On June 14th, our hostess Maggie Lulewicz was struck by an SUV while she was on her moped. Maggie is in critical condition with a head injury and several broken bones. She has had one surgery so far. Maggie has a long road of recovery ahead of her. Maggie is a lively retiree, a hard worker, and has the potential to overcome this horrible accident. Thank you for considering helping to make the road to recovery a bit smoother for Maggie.”

“Cooperating with the investigation?”
That would be giving them your DL and proof of insurance only.
Never admit fault, or give any statements that can be held against you.
I looked on google maps. there are no stop signs at that intersection. There is a yield sign.A person on a moped is low to the ground and lesser visibility to be seen.
Please check the help link as it is not working.
Yes, and that vulnerability means that common-sense mandates watching out for oncoming traffic.
