SALEM LAKES, Wis. — A 26-year-old Trevor man is facing a disorderly conduct charge with a dangerous weapon enhancer after a road rage incident that led a Kenosha County court commissioner to express alarm over the severity of the allegations.
Brandon J. Fitzpatrick appeared in court Thursday, where Commissioner William Michel II said, “Well, clearly this is probably one of the worst disorderly conducts that I’ve happened to read regarding this situation.” Michel imposed a cash bail and ordered Fitzpatrick not to possess any weapons if released.
According to the criminal complaint, Fitzpatrick allegedly cut off a garbage truck, exited his car, accused the driver of disrespecting his mother, and then pulled out a pocket knife, threatening to cut the man’s throat. He also reportedly spit in the driver’s face before leaving the scene. The incident was captured on dash camera footage and later reviewed by deputies.

When arrested, Fitzpatrick admitted to yelling and displaying the knife but denied opening it or making any specific threat to use it. He also claimed the spitting may have been accidental due to loud yelling.

Court records show Fitzpatrick is on probation for a 2024 child abuse conviction in Racine County, which led prosecutors to charge him as a repeat offender. The charge also includes a weapons enhancer, increasing the potential maximum jail sentence to two years.
Fitzpatrick remains in the Kenosha County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
