BRISTOL, Wis. – Authorities have identified the 21-year-old man killed in last week’s high-speed motorcycle crash in the Village of Bristol as Luis A. Flores-Garcia of Kenosha.
The fatal collision occurred around 8:49 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, near the intersection of County Highway K (60th Street) and CTH D/184th Avenue. According to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, Flores-Garcia had been riding a sport-style motorcycle eastbound on CTH K at a high rate of speed when he struck a full-size pickup truck that was turning left onto CTH D.
The impact ejected Flores-Garcia from the motorcycle and threw him into the windshield of a sport utility vehicle that had been traveling behind the pickup truck. He became lodged in the front passenger area of the SUV, while the motorcycle itself smashed into the SUV’s front end and got stuck beneath the engine compartment. Both vehicles were quickly consumed by flames.
Flores-Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office. The driver and front-seat passenger of the pickup truck, along with the driver of the SUV, sustained minor injuries and were cooperative with law enforcement.
Investigators say intoxicants were not believed to be a factor for either of the other drivers, but excessive speed appears to have played a role in the operation of the motorcycle. The Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) responded to investigate the crash.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office at 262-605-5100.
