TWIN LAKES, Wis. – An Illinois man accused of selling cocaine in Twin Lakes in 2021 is back behind bars after skipping a scheduled court appearance earlier this year.
Julio C. Rojas, 35, of Harvard, Illinois, was originally charged on August 11, 2021, with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession of THC, both as second and subsequent offenses. Court records show he was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
On March 6, 2025, Rojas failed to appear for a hearing, prompting the court to issue a warrant for his arrest. He was taken back into custody on September 5, 2025, and appeared in court three days later. Court Commissioner William Michel II set his bail at $5,000 cash on September 8. Rojas is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on September 12.
The charges stem from an August 9, 2021, controlled drug buy in Twin Lakes. Detectives arranged the transaction using text messages linked to a suspected overdose investigation. Rojas allegedly arrived at the scene with cocaine, which later tested positive for fentanyl as well as THC.
If convicted, Rojas faces up to 20 years in prison: 12 years and six months for the cocaine charge, with an additional four years possible due to his prior drug conviction in Illinois, plus three years and six months for the THC charge.
