SOMERS, Wis. — Municipal Judge Bob Kupfer has either resigned or is expected to resign soon, according to the Village of Somers, which is now accepting applications for an interim municipal judge to serve through April 30, 2027.
Kupfer’s resignation would mark the end of what many in local legal circles have described as a lackluster tenure. Several of his rulings were overturned on appeal, and attorneys familiar with his courtroom often questioned his grasp of municipal procedure. He was also investigated by the Wisconsin Judicial Commissioner for several years for an alleged serirs of misconduct.

The Village Board will recommend a replacement to the Circuit Court, which must approve the interim appointment. Candidates must be attorneys licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and, by ordinance, must reside in Somers.
The municipal judge oversees cases involving ordinance violations, traffic citations, and other local matters. Court sessions are typically held on the first and third Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. The judge supervises one full-time clerk and earns $1,452 per month.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, résumé, and three references to Village Administrator Jim Hurley at 262-859-2822 or [email protected].

Another piece of shit. Davidson needs to go to.
Atty. Davidson passed away.
Thanks for the info. That bastard was a Benedict Arnold. Best news I heard in a while. That guy was terrible. Pos Morris is gone too.
If I ever need a Judge I hope he/she is as attentive as Kupfer.
Boy, sounds like Somers is falling apart, between this judge and the board that runs the town! I would never move there.
Yeah that’s why I’ve moved 300 miles away. Somers sucks as much as that worthless money under the table village board. They are corrupt and can prove it on facts.
