PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — After 15 years of public service, including eight years on the Kenosha County Board, Supervisor Monica M. Yuhas announced Thursday that she will not seek re-election, saying the time has come to put family at the forefront.
Yuhas said the decision followed months of reflection, prayer, and conversations with those closest to her. She described her time representing Pleasant Prairie as “one of the greatest honors” of her life.
“Serving this community for the last 15 years — including the past eight years on the Kenosha County Board — has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Yuhas said in her statement. “I’m so grateful for the people I’ve met, the stories that have been entrusted to me, and the challenges I’ve worked through alongside my colleagues. These memories will stay with me forever.”
She attributed her decision to shifting priorities at home, especially with her husband now retired, two adult sons, and two grandchildren.
“I want to spend more time with my sons and be there for my grandchildren — at their recitals, their sporting events, and in all the little everyday moments I don’t want to miss,” Yuhas said. “This is the right season to put family first.”
Yuhas also expressed gratitude to residents for their support throughout her tenure, pledging to remain fully committed through the end of her current term.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported me, challenged me, and walked beside me,” she said. “I’ll continue to serve with full commitment through the end of my term, and I’ll always care deeply about this community and its future. I move forward with a full heart and profound gratitude for the chance to serve.”

Good riddance, don’t let the hit you on the way out!
Totally agree she is a rubber stamp of what is wrong with politics today. Don’t let the door hit you going out!
Is this Jill Gillmore’s district? Maybe she will run again and bring some integrity back to this pathetic group of blah.
No, after the redistricting Yuhas no longer represents Bristol. We are happy to have Eric Meadows representing us instead on the south side of Bristol.
Meadows was aware that a Highways superintendent, Jason Freitag, was involved in massive theft- half of his salary for nearly a decade- and did nothing. Nothing. That man is still collecting a paycheck from your tax dollars, by the way.
I would love that! We need integrity, honesty and faith in the seat!
Good riddance
