KENOSHA, Wis. — The United Way of Kenosha County, the Kenosha YMCA and BCU have partnered to launch “Every Child Warm in the Winter,” a community clothing drive aimed at helping Frank Elementary School students in grades 4K through 5 stay warm, healthy and ready to learn during the coldest months of the year.
The effort focuses on collecting new or gently used winter coats, hats, mittens and gloves, with donations of snowpants and boots also welcomed. Organizers say the goal is simple: ensure every Frank Elementary student has the cold-weather gear they need to safely get to school and participate fully throughout the winter season.
Frank Elementary Principal Erik Schlick said he’s thankful for the organizations and families stepping up to support local kids, noting that the continued collaboration between the United Way, YMCA and now BCU is making a meaningful difference. “Their partnership, along with the generous donations from our community, ensures our students are safe, warm and ready to learn this winter,” Schlick said in the announcement. “It speaks volumes about the kindhearted individuals who live and work in our community.”
Donations are being accepted at four Kenosha locations through Saturday, Dec. 6:
– United Way Office, 5500 6th Ave., Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
