KENOSHA, Wis. — The City of Kenosha recognized nine student winners Monday night during a Common Council meeting as part of its annual “I Voted” sticker contest, showcasing artwork that will soon be seen by voters across the city.
The contest invited students in grades 4K through 12 to submit original sticker designs for use in the upcoming Spring Election on April 7, 2026. All participants were required to be City of Kenosha residents, and more than 300 submissions were received this year.
Winners were selected across three grade groups, with three students recognized in each category. The youngest winners came from kindergarten through second grade, while additional selections were made among students in grades 4 through 8 and high school students in grades 9 through 12. With parental permission, all nine winners were honored publicly during the council meeting.
City officials said the winning designs will be printed and distributed as the official “I Voted” stickers for the spring election through a partnership with Allegra Kenosha, which helped bring the project to completion.
City Clerk and Treasurer Michelle Nelson praised the participation and creativity shown by local students, noting the strong support from educators, parents, and election workers who helped make the contest possible.
Communication and Election Specialist Alyssa Padjen introduced the winners during the meeting, calling the contest a meaningful way for young people to engage with the democratic process while taking pride in their artwork being used citywide.
Mayor David Bogdala also commended the students, highlighting the range of talent displayed from the youngest participants through high school seniors.
All submitted designs were displayed during the Common Council meeting and will remain on display inside the Municipal Building at 625 52nd St., giving the public an opportunity to view the full collection of student artwork ahead of the April election.

What’s the point of spending taxpayer money on useless stickers?
Thank you, someone else sees this sh*t as a waste of money. No different that the “pretty” new (and pointless) paint jobs on the KCPD cars. Do you all not realize this is our tax money? Our taxes go up as they blow the budget on things such as this. It may be “small potatoes” to you but all this petty crap adds up. OPEN YOUR EYES
Yep! And then they want a referendum! LOL!
Congrats to the kids whose stickers are in the final selection groups. I like the very colorful High Schooler one. It’s just an extra feel-good “prize” to show off that you cared enough to take the time to vote. I’m all for them.
Why does the city continually use the children to keep pushing their pathetic agendas ? Ughhhh
Oh give it a rest!!!
BINGO, another way to get at the kids.
