KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis has endorsed Sandy Wiedmeyer in the State Senate District 11 race, calling her a strong supporter of public safety, law enforcement, and conservative leadership.
In a statement provided directly to Kenosha County Eye, Solis said Wiedmeyer understands the importance of supporting victims, holding criminals accountable, and backing law enforcement officers working on the front lines.
“Sandy Wiedmeyer is a strong advocate for public safety, law enforcement, and the hardworking families of Wisconsin,” Solis said. “She understands the importance of supporting victims of crime, holding offenders accountable, and protecting our communities through common-sense leadership.”
Solis praised Wiedmeyer’s campaign platform, saying she has demonstrated a commitment to conservative values, fiscal responsibility, and safe communities.
“Wisconsin needs leaders who will stand firm for law and order and support those who serve on the front lines every day,” Solis said. “I fully support Sandy Wiedmeyer’s campaign for State Senate and encourage the citizens of Wisconsin to support her efforts to bring strong leadership and accountability to Madison.”
The endorsement comes as candidates continue campaigning in the Republican primary race for Wisconsin’s 11th Senate District, a contest that has attracted growing attention locally as candidates compete for support from conservative voters and public safety advocates.
Wiedmeyer told Kenosha County Eye she believes the endorsement carries significant weight because it comes from someone who works daily within the criminal justice system and sees firsthand the consequences of failed leadership and public policy.
“I think it says that people who are on the front lines of public safety — people who see every day what happens when government fails its citizens — they’re paying attention to this race, and they like what they see,” Wiedmeyer said.
She also emphasized that Solis is not someone who casually inserts himself into political campaigns.
“The District Attorney doesn’t endorse lightly,” Wiedmeyer said. “His reputation is on the line every time he steps into a courtroom. So when he looks at this campaign and says ‘I’m with Sandy,’ that means something.”
Wiedmeyer said part of the campaign’s message is that she is not a “career politician,” but rather someone who entered the race after years of working in education, operations leadership, and local Republican politics.
“And I think part of what he sees is someone who isn’t trying to build a career in politics,” Wiedmeyer said. “I’m not here to climb a ladder. I’m not here to build a resume. I’ve served my community as a teacher, as an operations leader, and as County Republican Chair; and I got into this race because the people of this district needed a voice — not because I needed a title.”
“Career politicians protect their careers first,” she added. “I don’t have one to protect. That frees me up to actually do the job.”
Wiedmeyer said she is hearing similar sentiments from voters while campaigning throughout District 11 and believes the race is becoming a coalition of residents frustrated with establishment politics.
“The DA understands that,” she said. “I’m hearing it from people at doors across District 11. And that’s exactly the kind of coalition we’re building — people who are done with politics as usual and ready for leadership that’s actually proven and earned.”

His endorsement means nothing. No one’s endorsement means anything. You people should be voting for people based on your own research.
She doesn’t have a career to protect, but she has sure committed herself to protecting the careers of washed up lifetime politicians like Kerkman.
