TREVOR, Wis. — A GoFundMe campaign has been established for a Trevor family after a house fire Wednesday left their home a complete loss and destroyed nearly everything inside.
Emergency dispatch records show the fire call for the residence in the 9950 block of 270th Court was entered at approximately 10:04 a.m. Initial reports indicated callers could see smoke and flames coming through the windows of the home. Authorities also noted that two vehicles were parked in the driveway, creating concern that somebody could still be inside the residence.

As deputies and firefighters responded, authorities began attempting to locate and contact occupants associated with the home. Dispatch traffic later indicated officials were able to make contact and were told nobody was believed to be inside the house and no animals were believed to be inside at the time of the fire.
Kenosha County Eye later learned the residence was a complete loss.
A fundraising effort has since been organized for Lisa Rogers, whose family lost their home and possessions in the fire. According to the fundraiser, Lisa is a single mother who raised her two sons while making sacrifices to provide for them and help set them up for success.

The fundraiser states the fire allegedly began in Lisa Rogers’ bedroom before quickly spreading throughout the home. According to the campaign, the family lost clothing, shoes, important documents, family photographs and numerous personal belongings that cannot be replaced.
The fundraiser says Brendon Rogers, his brother and their mother not only lost their possessions but also lost the security and stability their home provided.

Two words: Homeowners insurance?
Right
They rented the property from a slumlord.
Two more words: renters insurance
Home owners insurance takes months if not longer to actually give money out in these situations and they will never get back enough to start over from nothing.
Can salvation army help for a bit? Did family ask? It is just around the corner. If you do not ask, you do not get.
Fire is a terrible thing
Does insurance still pay out if it’s caused by a cigarette or candle?
Or a crack pipe???
…..Or an electrical fire…..
A crack pipe? Are you dumb.
How does one have a house and not homeowners insurance? Oh and if they were renting the house that’s even more mind boggling since renters insurance is still very cheap.
Very few people get renters insurance. I don’t think it’s inappropriate way to criticize them.
How does the old saying go……failure to plan on your part doesn’t constitute an emergency on my part.
I really hope nothing ever happens in your life that takes everything from you. Many people are struggling right now. Shit is EXPENSIVE. Who are you to judge a single mom trying to provide her kids with a stable life?
it’s called priorities.
How does the old saying go? If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Asshat.
My old landlord required proof of insurance on my lease.
Also – renter’s insurance doesn’t cover much and things like that take time. These people have nothing besides what they left their home with that morning.
where do you buy your insurance? Temu?
The homeowner that is renting the place out should have it insured
tell me you don’t know how insurance works without telling me you don’t know how insurance works
I guess your mom didn’t teach you that if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say it at all. She’s a single mom who raised two boys by herself with no help from the father.
She recently lost her job and is struggling to find a new one. She’s an amazing person who is kind-hearted and would give you the shirt off her back. She rents the house, and most likely didn’t have insurance. When you can’t make ends meet, you do what you have to do. In a matter of moments, they lost their home, belongings, and the sense of security we all depend on. Put yourself in their shoes. It’s time to rally as a community and help them. If you are unable to help financially, your thoughts, prayers, and sharing the GoFundMe are equally appreciated.
My mom didn’t waste her time teaching me nonsense. My mom taught me to be responsible for myself and work hard, and forego extras until priorities are taken care of. This is life in America in 2026. Don’t take responsibility for your own life decisions. Get the new I phone, buy Starbucks every day, go on expensive trips, but don’t buy insurance in case anything happens. It’s ok, people will bail you out, and attack anyone who suggests that you should have made sure you were covered in case of a situation like this. Let’s not even talk about making multiple kids with someone without a commitment, someone who’s going to leave you hanging and not support their own children. More poor choices i’m not responsible for.
Your mother is a failure because she raised a piece of shit.
who has insurance and can pay their own way.
Oh, so that makes you better than others? Get a grip pal you don’t even know how it started!
Nice 5th grade comment.
You have ZERO obligation to donate. What the fuck happened to you to make you this way??
Shut the fuck up!
Your parents raised you well! And that’s the way it should be.
At the same time, we also need compassion and if you feel led to help in this situation…then help.
It doesn’t matter if a guy makes a commitment to be with a woman and raise children because human beings are unpredictable and what might seem like a solid partner in the beginning could change and dissappear in the future so your remark is trash along with everything else you said.
I had a house fire and lost everything as a single mom with three kids. It’s devastating to wake up and realize that you don’t have a new set of clothes to put on. I did have homeowners insurance, but that was because I had a mortgage.
I think it’s wrong to criticize and say such hateful comments to someone that you don’t know. If you want to give, then do so. If you don’t, then continue scrolling and let them be. Nobody needs to see all of these evil comments from people who live in a world of mistrust and hate when a family is going through such a tragedy. Not to mention most of the comments are made from anonymous people who are too ashamed to show who they really are. I’m glad that technology wasn’t this far along when I had my house fire because I don’t know how I could’ve dealt with all of these people making up scenarios about my choices and lifestyle or what I could or couldn’t afford to do at the time.
