Kenosha County Eye Back Up!

Copied!

Kenosha County Eye is back up and running, after being unavailable for about 6 days. If the site goes in and out over this week, it only means that I am having trouble teaching myself IT. I’ve relied on a friend of KCE too much and I wanted to learn how to handle the site alone. KCE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

KCE has grown steadily every single month for the last three years. I used a budget website server that cost about $180 per year. It is known as a “shared server” plan. That means, KCE shared server with many other websites. This last month, KCE reached a record number of unique monthly visitors – about 200,000 (With the exception of the Kyle Rittenhouse trail, which received over 1 million unique visitors.) The cheap package was no longer compatible with the amount of traffic and data going out to my wonderful readers.

There was only one option. I had to move the website to a different server that was meant to handle this type of traffic. Unfortunately 1 hour turned into 6 days. It’s not easy to move an entire website over to a different server. I ended up getting help from a friend of the website who spent many hours helping me to get back up. To this person I say, thank you for me, and from everybody else who gets any value from this website. KCE is now LIVE on a dedicated server.

I did learn a couple of things. In 6 days I received text messages, emails, phone calls, what’s app messages, signal messages and communications in many other forms from people wondering what was up with the website. It helped me see a little clearer how much people depend on a news source that isn’t afraid to publish anything. A news source that takes time to investigate serious matters in our community. It was a little humbling.

Here is what else I learned. My haters really love my website too. Joel Trudell, the online troll who is about to go to trial for resisting arrest, claimed victory and posted a screenshot of the error message to the website.

Raymond Roberts, the deranged mad-man who accused me of being a terrorist and using my children as suicide bombers claimed to be responsible for the website being down. Later he said it was taken down by a “court order.” He even made the error message his profile picture on Facebook. Remember, during the defamation trial he said under oath that he had never been to my website. I guess a guy who says crazy things about children will lie about anything.

Connie Kmiec is the woman who was arrested for attacking her husband, Ted Kmiec. The woman stared at me for an entire week at my defamation trial. She said that “legal efforts” were responsible for my website being down.

I’m sorry to the people who love me so much that they hate me. This website is not going anywhere as long as there is blood pumping through my portly body.

That is what I love so much about this country, and you hate so much about this country – the first amendment.

  1. No doubt many of us who check KCE more than once each day were very concerned… I guess their moment of relief has been short lived.

  2. Really glad you are back up and running–the normal people missed you, I love seeing you own the whiners such as Joel Trudel, Raymond Roberts, and Connie Kmiec. Might be fun to see them featured on your soon-to-be-award-winning Troll Series! None of those aforementioned individuals has ever had an original thought in their lives, and their jealousy is hilarious!

  3. Glad it’s back up and running! I was afraid that Godzilla — reported by the Eye to have been seen in downtown Kenosha — had stepped on the server.

      1. Doubt if it would be much of a cleanup, can’t be more than a combined cup of gray matter in a description like that. 😝
