Popular school board member Eric Meadows announced today that he’s not running For re-election next April. Meadows posted the news on social media at about 10:00 am. Meadows was a popular member of the board, especially among conservatives voters.
“I have officially turned in my Notification of Non-Candidacy. I will not be running for reelection in the spring. My daughter has graduated from KUSD, so it is time to pass the torch to others.
I got involved several years back when the board was deciding whether to close schools or not. I knew my child’s needs better than they did and I simply wanted the choice to continue to go to school. The immediate vitriol that I received after speaking up from those who claimed to know better than me inspired me to run for office. I couldn’t stand for parents being ignored.
Though I haven’t accomplished everything I would have wanted, I have done my best to put education back in the hands of those to whom it belongs, the parents. Public schools exist to assist parents in their sacred responsibility to educate their children. It’s not the other way around.
I have boldly taken stances and am touched by the immense support I have found in this community. There are passionate parents here who want their kids to have the best education possible, and who are tired of being ignored, and/or demonized. I am proud to have given you a voice at the table. In doing so, I have angered some people as well. Parents standing up for their rights is a threat to those who want to indoctrinate the next generation in their worldview.
I appreciate the opportunity to serve the community and look forward to encouraging and supporting the next board members who will continue this fight.“

Meadows was elected in 2022 for a three year term. Early this year, the school district said they learned of a “clerical error” and forced Meadows off the board after only a year in his seat. The board then appointed Meadows to the board for another year, despite board president Yolanda Adams’ (D) wishes.
Meadows sued the district, but activist judge Chad Kerkman (D) ruled that the election was to be reversed, saying “[KUSD] tried their best.”
The school board has a 5-2 democrat majority. Democrats Todd Battle, Mary Modder, and Todd Price are expected to be running for re-election this coming April.

Thank you for your time and work in this capacity. Also thank you for the early notification of
Non-Candidacy.
This gives many potential candidates time to discuss their possible Candidacy with their families over this next holiday.
Considering the current state of this community it’s inevitable any conservative candidates will have to have a strong disposition to withstand the pushback from the opposition.
Mr Meadows, thank you for your service, and one can hardly blame you from walking away from the inevitable s*** show that the power hungry far left uses for fun and games instead of education. So long as Kenosha continues to elect people like Adams, they will always be voting against actual education and instead voting for social activism that spirals us in a permanent dive.
Actually — as someone who has seen this school board for 50+ years — Adams may not be the problem as much as the symptom.
How so? This board has increasingly become dysfunctional. Started with micromanagement. Then getting into politics, special interests and hiring less than the best and brightest. Poor employee relations. It’s a wonder that the school district does as well as it does — and in some schools, that’s not saying much — because of this mess. The reality is that most school boards around the country function without all this drama. This means that only people who have ties to special interests and factions are willing to put up with the crap.

By that logic they are all popular. But I don’t subscribe to that logic at all. He got a seat with 17% of the vote and was the least popular of the winners that night.
I do agree he is popular with the conservatives.
It’s time the Kenosha Unified School District and its Board of Education stop playing politics and get back to the business of education.

If you want to run for School Board declare by the end of November. Papers for signatures begin circulating Dec 1.

It doesn’t matter who is on the board: tax payer-sanctioned government indoctrination has no value. Disrupt the hegemony: educate in a private, home-based setting.

It’s unbelievable what Mr. Meadows had to put up with on the school board. The fringy left in Kenosha rants and raves when they get called out on their radical ideology. The lefty loony birds have gone so far off the cliff that it makes normal people seem “extreme”. Yes! Normal people. Not people who want their kids indoctrinated with every new fad that pops into a lefties head. Kenosha has had enough.
