“I learned about the incident and Officer Tyler Cochran’s actions late yesterday. Tyler is our ‘Officer Friendly’ and leads our department’s community engagement team. He flourishes in these roles because of his mix of professionalism and compassion. I am so proud of his quick response and I am so thankful he was there to save this child’s life. We are blessed to have this outcome and without Tyler we may not be having the same conversation. Tyler is an incredibly humble community servant and we are lucky to have him. These incidents are extremely traumatic for all involved and right now we are turning our focus towards helping those that experienced the event heal and ensuring the first responders are processing what they responded to with their longterm wellness in mind. I also want to thank PPPD and PPFD for their response and immediately reaching out to our department,” said Patton.

  1. Many are In the position to have lives changed in front of them but it is wonderful when life is saved specifically because of the actions of one other. That list is short. Those on the list are forever in a club – lifetime membership.

There are those who choose professions that increase the chances to save life. It doesn’t always happen.

    1. some people just enjoy being miserable and using any platform possible to complain. People like that don’t belong in polite society

  2. This is what we want our police officers to do and be heroic !!!
Unfortunately, many have chosen the “us against them” policy which makes them all look bad.
I truly would like to trust those entrusted with policing.

  3. Tyler and I went to grade school together and he has always had a heart of gold and been so aware of his surroundings gone above for many even as a child so blessed to know this man and to watch him in our Kenosha police department and our community being the leader he has always been touching so many lives in so many ways this definitely made me cry so thankful that little girl is ok!!!
