KENOSHA, Wis. – A Kenosha man with a violent criminal history who previously served two decades in prison is now facing 11 new charges—including battery to law enforcement officers, multiple drug trafficking felonies, and illegal firearm possession—after a chaotic arrest Friday afternoon on the city’s south side.

Christopher Andrae Cody, 43, was formally charged Monday in Kenosha County Circuit Court following a police response to a reported weapons threat on 61st Street. Prosecutors allege Cody physically assaulted officers during his arrest and possessed fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and ecstasy with intent to deliver. He was also allegedly carrying a loaded semi-automatic handgun despite being a convicted felon.
Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered Cody held on $150,000 cash bail. He remains in custody at the Kenosha County Jail pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 24.
According to the criminal complaint, officers with the Kenosha Police Department responded around 3 p.m. on June 13 to a report that Cody had threatened to shoot someone during an argument on the sidewalk near his residence. When officers arrived, they observed Cody yelling and then running away. A foot pursuit ensued through a backyard where officers attempted to detain him.
Police say Cody violently resisted efforts to be handcuffed, assuming a fighting stance and punching one officer in the face hard enough to cause a concussion and visible injuries. Another officer reportedly suffered multiple lacerations while helping subdue Cody, and at least one additional officer witnessed the punch and described Cody’s resistance as combative and aggressive.
A loaded handgun with a full magazine of hollow-point rounds was located along Cody’s flight path, just feet from a backyard fence. Officers also searched the residence where Cody was believed to be staying and located a green shoulder bag containing suspected drugs, a scale, a spoon with white residue, and a pistol magazine.
Testing confirmed the presence of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and MDMA (ecstasy) in various baggies found in the home. Investigators concluded the evidence was consistent with drug distribution, not personal use.
Cody is charged with four Class E or F felonies for possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, including fentanyl and heroin. He is also charged with battery to a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest causing soft tissue injury—both Class H felonies—as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm, a Class G felony.
In addition, Cody faces three misdemeanors for resisting, obstructing, and disorderly conduct, and one additional charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cody was previously convicted in 1998 of second-degree sexual assault and false imprisonment in Kenosha County and served roughly 20 years in prison before being released. His past felony convictions prohibit him from possessing firearms under Wisconsin law.
If convicted of all charges, Cody could face more than 70 years in prison.

Hope the officer will make a full recovery, and maybe some people who like calling Leo’s pigs and going on and on and on about BLM we’ll look at this situation that easily could have been handled permanently with a little excessive force, yet these officers brought him in unharmed.

I have kids with this man and i watched the whole thing happen along with numerous other random people who witnessed the same thing! The man had his hands up! He has never been violent with me nor anybody since ive known him so for you to come on here and assume something that you know nothing about is dumb and sounds like you racial profiling!
