Authorities have now confirmed the operation was tied to a lengthy investigation involving allegations of stolen mail, financial fraud, narcotics activity and burglary-related offenses. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office said investigators executed a search warrant Tuesday at a residence in the 11400 block of Antioch Road in Trevor after approximately six weeks of investigation.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies initially began investigating fraud complaints linked to stolen mail. Detectives later determined personal and business checks were allegedly being taken from mailboxes, altered and used to obtain money fraudulently. As the investigation continued, authorities said evidence also tied suspects to narcotics activity and burglaries involving storage units in the Antioch, Illinois area.
During the search warrant, investigators arrested four people who are expected to formally face charges this week:
Frank W. McClaughry Jr., 40, of Trevor, is expected to face the most extensive list of recommended charges. Investigators allege McClaughry was involved in mail theft, identity-related financial crimes, multiple felony bail jumping allegations, possession of burglary tools, maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Authorities also indicate McClaughry had multiple active felony warrants.
Tammy Faye Wilton, 54, of Trevor, is expected to face allegations including possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession of methamphetamine-related paraphernalia. Authorities also listed a felony probation hold.
Thomas Donald Wilton Jr., 53, of Trevor, is expected to face recommended charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a drug trafficking place, methamphetamine-related paraphernalia possession, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Alicia Renee Wojtowicz, 42, of Trevor, is expected to face allegations involving theft of mail and misappropriation of personal identifying information to obtain money. Authorities also listed a felony probation hold.
Detectives said they recovered more than 150 items connected to drug distribution, fraud investigations and burglary cases. The sheriff’s office said the seizure included approximately 28.3 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 27.3 grams of marijuana, approximately 6.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, approximately 0.5 grams of MDMA, a small amount of cocaine, altered and fraudulent checks, check-washing materials, burglary tools, identification cards belonging to other people, suspected stolen property and drug paraphernalia.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active and detectives are continuing to coordinate with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office regarding storage-unit burglaries in Antioch. Officials said additional charges could still be filed.
This story has been updated to include a fourth suspect, Alicia Renee Wojtowicz, based on additional information released by the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office.
