KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. – A 19-year-old Pleasant Prairie man is being held in the Kenosha County Jail on $50,000 cash bail after authorities say he’s wanted in Illinois for a violent shooting and robbery.

Aamari Tahir Gray appeared in court Thursday on a fugitive warrant stemming from charges in Lake County, Illinois. According to a complaint filed by the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office, Gray is accused in Illinois of aggravated battery with a firearm, a Class X felony, and robbery, a Class 2 felony.
Lake County authorities allege Gray was involved in a shooting incident and are now seeking his extradition. The Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office filed the fugitive complaint under Wisconsin’s Uniform Criminal Extradition Act, requesting Gray remain in custody or be admitted to bail while Illinois authorities pursue a formal requisition.
Gray is currently being held at the Kenosha County Jail. According to the complaint, Illinois law enforcement confirmed the charges via teletype communications, which are routinely relied upon between law enforcement agencies. Officials have not released details about the underlying Illinois case beyond the firearm and robbery charges.
Judge Jason Rossell signed the fugitive warrant, and an extradition hearing has been scheduled for May 28, 2025.
