KENOSHA, Wis. — A Kenosha man is facing four criminal charges after allegedly starting a fire in a kitchen and resisting arrest while heavily intoxicated, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday.
Jacob M. Arendt, 36, was charged in Kenosha County Circuit Court with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, resisting an officer, misdemeanor bail jumping, and disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse enhancer. Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered a $1,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 31.
According to police, Arendt got into an argument with a woman he had been living with at her 60th Street apartment. During the dispute, the woman told Arendt he needed to move out and seek help for his alcoholism. Arendt reportedly went into the kitchen, placed a towel on a lit stove burner, and then attempted to microwave metal utensils—an act which could have caused a fire or explosion.
The woman told officers she intervened, removing the burning towel and shutting off the microwave, but not before the two engaged in a physical struggle. Arendt fled the scene after she called 911.
Officers found him nearby, and said he was visibly intoxicated. Police allege Arendt resisted arrest multiple times, refused to cooperate with a search, and at one point raised his legs as if to kick an officer in the face. At the jail, he allegedly spit on a correctional officer.
Arendt was previously released on bail in an open Kenosha County case from May 2025 and was ordered not to commit further crimes or consume alcohol. He also had two outstanding warrants out of Racine County at the time of his arrest.

What is he 5? Grow up
Be the hardened criminal he appears to be placing silverware in the microwave. He may just want to hold his breath until he dies.
