KENOSHA, Wis. – A 33-year-old Kenosha man is facing six charges—including felony strangulation—after allegedly attacking the mother of his children twice in one week, threatening to kill her, pouring hot water on her, and fleeing with their children, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday.
Milton S. Alvarado Gomez was charged in Kenosha County Circuit Court with felony strangulation and suffocation, two counts of battery, two counts of disorderly conduct, and one count of criminal damage to property. All charges include domestic abuse enhancers.
At his initial appearance Monday afternoon, Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered a $1,500 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 1.
According to police reports, the first assault occurred on July 22 when Alvarado Gomez became angry while driving home with the victim and their children. When they returned to their shared residence on 32nd Avenue, he allegedly shoved her repeatedly, causing her to strike her head on a counter and suffer bruises to her arms, stomach, and legs.
Four days later, on July 26, the violence escalated. Alvarado Gomez allegedly returned to the home enraged that the locks had been changed. He took the victim’s phone and smashed it, then damaged other personal property including a smartwatch and headphones, before launching into a violent attack.
The woman told police that Alvarado Gomez grabbed her by the neck and choked her to the point that she could not breathe. She said she was left dizzy, coughing, and unable to swallow properly. Officers noted visible injuries, including a red line across her neck, bloodshot eyes, and a bloodied mark from a ripped necklace.
During the attack, he allegedly told her, “If I don’t get in trouble, I will kill you.”
The complaint states he continued the assault by throwing a doorknob and deadbolt at her head and pouring hot water from the sink on her. Before fleeing, he allegedly took their children with him. When he later returned to the house, he reportedly broke her glasses in front of her sister, prompting the victim to leave and finally call police.
Alvarado Gomez was arrested that evening at an apartment on 85th Street. He remains in custody ahead of his upcoming court appearance.
