County Executive Samantha Kerkman took the stage to kick off the morning alongside State Rep. Amanda Nedweski, Sheriff David Zoerner, District Attorney Xavier Solis, Congressman Bryan Steil, and County Board Supervisor John Poole.
“Here in Kenosha County, we have over 2,300 dairy cows farmed by 11 different dairy farms,” said Kerkman. “That number has gone down, but the farms that remain are producing more.”
She proclaimed June as Dairy Month in Kenosha County, emphasizing that Wisconsin’s dairy industry generates more than $45 billion annually for the state’s economy.
Kerkman thanked the Daniels family as well as Heather Daniels, Tina Elfering, and Daniel Elfering—applauding their efforts in making the event a success.

Congressman Steil presented a congressional certificate of recognition to the Daniels family.
“What a great day to be out on the farm,” Steil said. “It’s important for families to see firsthand the hard work that goes into dairy farming, especially right here in Kenosha County.”
Also attending were Bristol School board President Tina Elfering, County Board Supervisor Keith Gray and Joanne Gray, Bristol School Board Treasurer and Republican Party of Kenosha County Chair Sandy Weidemeyer.
Next year’s event is already on the calendar and will be held at Spur Line Farm.
