KENOSHA, Wis. — A Kenosha teenager who was previously adjudicated delinquent in connection with a 2022 shooting near Frank Elementary School is now facing five new criminal charges, including felony possession of a firearm, after police say he was caught with a loaded 9mm handgun and marijuana during a traffic stop on July 1.
Jason Isom Jr., 18, appeared in court Wednesday where cash bail was set at $10,000. He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on July 10.
Isom is charged with one count of possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent—a Class G felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison—as well as misdemeanor counts of carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of bail jumping, and possession of THC.
According to a criminal complaint, Kenosha Police stopped a red Chevy Sonic near the 4900 block of 37th Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday after noticing the vehicle had expired registration and lacked a front license plate. Officers recognized the driver as Daniel Riley, a man known to them for alleged drug use.
During the stop, police say they detected the odor of marijuana and noticed “furtive movements” from Isom, who was seated in the right rear passenger seat. Officers removed the occupants and conducted a search of the vehicle.
Near where Isom had been sitting, officers allegedly found a camouflage lunchbox containing a bag of marijuana and a dispensary-labeled THC package. Beneath a brown paper bag near Isom’s feet, they say they discovered a concealed SCCY 9mm handgun with a red dot optic.
Isom denied knowledge of the firearm, blaming it on other passengers, but those individuals allegedly denied any awareness of the weapon.
Court records show Isom was adjudicated delinquent in 2022 for first-degree recklessly endangering safety in a case involving a shooting near Frank Elementary School. That status bars him from possessing firearms.
The new bail jumping charges stem from two open misdemeanor cases—one from March and another from May—in which he was previously released on signature bonds under conditions that he not commit new crimes.
If convicted of all charges, Isom faces over a decade in prison.

How come the Democrats don’t push for a aborting 18 year olds that are never going to be able to live in society? Might be a great bipartisan bill.
