KENOSHA, Wis. – The Riverport Chorus will host its annual Fall Cabaret on Sunday, September 21, at the Parkway Chateau in Kenosha. This year’s theme, “Growing Up Is Hard to Do,” promises a nostalgic and heartwarming celebration of youth and growing older through a lively lineup of a cappella performances.
The event will feature the Riverport Chorus itself, along with performances by The Thrift Store Four Quartet, Joyful Blend Quartet, and 2025 Diva Quest Champion Yocelin Valdez. In addition to the musical acts, attendees can enjoy raffle baskets, a 50/50 cash raffle, and two silent auctions—one for a 72-inch patriotic quilt and the other for a Holiday Village set. Food and beverage concessions will also be available.
“Our lively show celebrates being young and being young in heart,” said Riverport Chorus Director Laurel Peterson. “A variety of song favorites will highlight various stages of life, evoking heartwarming moments and memories.”
The show will take place at the Parkway Chateau, located behind The Brat Stop at 12304 75th St., just off the Highway 50 exit on I-94. Advance tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for ages 6–18, and free for children 5 and under. Tickets may be purchased online at riverportchorus.org or from any chorus member. Tickets will also be available at the door for $20.
Founded in 1964, the Riverport Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International and includes nearly 40 members ranging from high school students to retirees. The group is well known throughout Southeast Wisconsin and Northeast Illinois for its musical excellence and community involvement. In 2024, the chorus celebrated its 60th anniversary and recently earned the Region 3 Sweet Adelines 2025 Audience Choice Award.
Rehearsals take place every Monday at 7 p.m. at Wilmot Union High School, and new singers are always welcome to visit or audition.
