KENOSHA, Wis. — A Kenosha man with a documented history of domestic violence convictions was back in court today on two new domestic abuse-related criminal complaints — and walked away owing just $150 cash bail total despite the allegations.

(Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office)
The first complaint stems from a December 4, 2025 incident where prosecutors say 32-year-old Thomas F. Verborg threatened the victim, threw food at her, and told her she “needed to bow down” to him because she was a woman. He allegedly threatened to “beat her ass,” and the victim told police she feared him because he has been violent in the past. Police say Verborg admitted to consuming multiple double-shot alcoholic drinks and driving recklessly before the fight. His breath test registered .176, more than twice the legal limit.
Verborg posted the statutory $150 cash bail in that case on December 8 before appearing in court.
Today, Liberal Activist Supplemental Court Commissioner David Hughes allowed Verborg to remain free under that same $150 amount — despite a documented pattern of domestic violence and a prior conviction.
The second complaint was also filed today, tied to an August 20, 2025 incident. In that case, prosecutors say Verborg chased the same woman after accusing her of cheating. The victim told police she believed he intended to batter her and threw a metal tumbler cup at him to stop him as he closed in. Officers noted blood droplets at the scene.
For this newer complaint, Hughes issued a no-cash bail, meaning Verborg did not pay anything to be released.
Between both cases, Verborg walked out of the courthouse owing only $150 total.
Verborg’s history includes being extradited to Lake County, Illinois in 2018 on a felony case and a 2022 conviction for domestic-abuse disorderly conduct. Despite repeated allegations of escalating conduct, he received what many would consider extremely light conditions — particularly from someone who may soon seek a judgeship in Branch IV.
Verborg is scheduled to return to court February 5 for a pretrial hearing.
If convicted on the two new charges, he faces up to 180 days in jail and up to $2,000 in fines.

Congratulations Kenosha voters for electing judges who put Liberal Activist Supplemental Court Commissioner David Hughes on the bench this could be your daughter or sister having to deal with this!
That POS needs his ass kicked.
Which one, the suspect or the one who let him out on mobile?
The little bitch. But, the other asshole is no better.
This guy is truly another breed of human. Unless you have the time to truly get to know them, their children, and just how deplorable of a siuation this really is. Kenosha county should be ashamed they are not serving warrants picking both the mom and dad up, and re-homing their poor children caught in between these horrible people. This guy has gotten away with alot more than just domestic abuse lol.
