KENOSHA, Wis. — Residents can dispose of natural Christmas trees for free through Jan. 31, 2026, by dropping them inside green, snow-fenced enclosures at 15 city locations, where the trees will be collected, chipped and reused as mulch in City of Kenosha parks.
To avoid damaging chipping equipment, the city is asking residents to remove tree bags, ornaments, stands, holiday lights, nails and any other metal objects before dropping trees off, and to place those items in the trash receptacles provided at each site. Other holiday greenery, including wreaths and garland, must be placed with normal residential trash collection rather than at the drop-off enclosures.
The drop-off sites are Wolfenbuttel Park (60th Street/Third Avenue);
the park at Southwest Library (38th Avenue/79th Street);
Petretti Park (19th Street/16th Avenue);
Roosevelt Park (68th Street/34th Avenue);
Endee Park (Pershing Boulevard/47th Street);
Sunnyside Park (81st Street/27th Avenue);
Columbus Park (54th Street/21st Avenue);
