KENOSHA, Wis. — The Kenosha Police Department was praised Monday for piecing together what prosecutors called an extraordinarily complex murder investigation, with detectives methodically tracking evidence, witnesses, and forensic leads over the course of years. But even while crediting the investigative team as a whole, Special Prosecutor T. Clair Binger made a point to highlight Detective Ron Eckert of the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, saying his actions may have been the deciding moment that prevented the case from going unsolved — even though he was just one member of the broader investigative effort.
