SALEM LAKES, Wis. — Authorities have confirmed that the item discovered this week in a boys’ bathroom at Westosha Central High School was a single, unfired .22-caliber rimfire cartridge, as the investigation into how it ended up inside the school continues.

Lots of those kids hunt before school. They should be more careful and leave equipment at home then go to school. Good thing they not checking cars!!

Could be a big deal, could be a nothing Burger. 22s are frequently loaded from a pocket of loose rounds when plinking or target practice or whatever. I think the important thing is that there’s actually some transparency where they have simply reported what happened and I think reasonable people can relax and not get bent out of shape because there was no answer to all their questions 30 seconds after it was reported.
