KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha’s annual Snow Daze Festival has been rescheduled to Saturday, Feb. 7, after dangerously cold temperatures prompted organizers to postpone the event originally planned for Jan. 24, city officials announced Tuesday.
The winter festival, now in its 12th year, will transform downtown Kenosha into a seasonal attraction featuring more than 40 ice sculptures displayed throughout the downtown area and Veterans Memorial Park. Snow Daze is presented by the City of Kenosha and Visit Kenosha, with support from local businesses and the Lakeshore Business Improvement District.
Ice artists from Art Below Zero of Franksville are scheduled to begin carving a featured sculpture around 2 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, located at 5220 Sixth Ave. Additional sculptures sponsored by local organizations and businesses will be placed throughout the park and in front of downtown storefronts. The sculptures will remain on display as long as weather conditions allow.
Downtown businesses are expected to offer special promotions during the event, and a list of participating locations will be available through Visit Kenosha. Zeigler Hyundai will sponsor free s’mores kits beginning at 2 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, while supplies last, with fire pits available near the park’s fountain for toasting marshmallows. Food vendors will also be on site offering additional treats for purchase.
Festival-goers will also be able to enjoy the city’s outdoor ice rink at Veterans Memorial Park, with free skate checkouts available from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Feb. 7. In addition, the city streetcar will offer free rides in conjunction with Snow Daze from 10:35 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Free parking will be available throughout downtown Kenosha during the event, including at the city parking garage located at Eighth Avenue and 56th Street.
