KENOSHA, Wis. — The City of Kenosha will close its Waste Division bulk waste drop-off site this Saturday due to dangerously cold temperatures forecast for the area, city officials announced.
The temporary closure is being implemented to protect both residents and city staff amid extreme winter conditions. The bulk waste drop-off site, located at 1001 50th St., will not be open for service during its normally scheduled Saturday hours.
Under normal operations, the city’s bulk waste drop-off site accepts materials from city residents and residential property owners on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., excluding holidays or when dumpsters reach capacity. Residents must present a bulk waste drop-off receipt for the appropriate yardage.
The city does not permit commercial disposal at the site. Proof of city residency is required and may include a photo ID, lease agreement, mortgage documents, tax bill, or utility bill. Non-city residents who own residential property within Kenosha must provide proof of ownership, such as a tax bill or mortgage paperwork.
Residents are encouraged to monitor official city communication channels for updates related to weather-related service changes and potential schedule adjustments.

The waste drop-off and policies in Kenosha are ridiculous. You have to guess how much trash you have and then buy a ticket or multiple and then it’s up the the trash guard to decide your penalty. It’s almost impossible to throw anything away. The tan and blue cans have made it a little easier as the trash guys aren’t auditing your trash as much. Let the citizens decide if it’s too cold to throw away our trash.
Thanks for passing that info along to everyone 👍🏻
