KENOSHA, Wis. — A little more than a dozen students took part Friday in a student-organized walkout at Tremper High School, marking the second consecutive day of student protests within the Kenosha Unified School District tied to recent events in Minneapolis.
The walkout occurred shortly after noon. Based on firsthand observation by Kenosha County Eye, participation appeared limited, with only a small group of students leaving class during the protest.

The Tremper demonstration followed a similar walkout Thursday at Indian Trail High School and Academy. Ahead of Friday’s event, Tremper families and students were notified through ParentSquare that classroom instruction would continue as scheduled and that standard attendance rules would apply.
In the message sent to families, Tremper Principal Steve Knecht said parents could excuse their child before or after the walkout using the Infinite Campus app or by contacting the attendance office. Students who participated without being excused were subject to Wisconsin attendance statutes, including being marked tardy if they returned late to class or truant if they left class after it had started and returned to the same class following the walkout.
School staff were present on campus during the walkout to monitor student movement and ensure safety.
The Tremper walkout came one day after Indian Trail students staged a walkout that included two separate student groups expressing opposing viewpoints related to the same events in Minneapolis. District officials said both groups were permitted to participate and were treated the same under district policy.
In response to a media inquiry from Kenosha County Eye, Kenosha Unified School District Superintendent Jeffrey Weiss said the walkouts were entirely student planned and driven, and not organized or endorsed by the district.
“These activities are fully student planned and driven,” Weiss said in an email. He said staff members are present only to supervise and ensure student safety, and that the district also notifies the Kenosha Police Department out of concern for student well-being.
Weiss emphasized that the district does not distinguish between viewpoints when responding to student demonstrations and said the same approach will be used going forward.

“Yesterday, there were two groups of students who took part in a walkout at Indian Trail,” Weiss said. “The two groups had different viewpoints on the events in Minneapolis. Both groups were treated the same. Any future student walk-out will be handled in this manner, as well.”
Both Indian Trail and Tremper administrators previously noted that while staff supervision is provided on campus during walkouts, students who choose to leave school grounds are unsupervised. District officials reiterated that instruction continues during walkouts and that participation remains a decision made by students and families within the limits of attendance law.

The students destined to be useful idiots for the rest of their lives were there in full force. The students that are going to be successful, choosing to ignore their propaganda pushing teachers were not.
Monkey see-monkey do and wear pajamas while doing it🙄😂🤪
Dressed for success!
We did a walkout for “teachers pay” when we were teens. The majority of us didn’t do it for the cause, we did it to skip school.
Yeah, believe that was around 1996 or so, I was there. We foolishly walked from Tremper all the way to Bradford. But mostly it was organized by a few of the ‘popular’ kids that had parents as teachers. No real cause except a to miss out on school.
Correct. I could name names, but I won’t. They were friends of mine. One girl was the daughter of a Tremper teacher, and her father was a KUSD principal. KB I remember thinking that the kids were being used like pawns, which they were. Still going on today.
Why not, I know one them was Santarelli 🤣
Not sure if Ellen was a walker. She was a year younger. Kara Baas, Brookhouse, ect. It was totally organized by the teachers.
yes, I remember that 1996. Sr year, and I know it was driven by the teachers. I did not participate
I guarantee there are Communist Union Teachers encouraging this Bolshevik BS.
They need to be found out and FIRED!
Deport soooooo many people, that i never have to press 1 for English again!!!!
GET EM ALL, AND THEY MAMA!
Wow!! A whole 12 students that’s really making a statement! Lol I Can almost guarantee that the school will NOT stick with attendance policy for this? And I don’t believe that this walk out was for a real cause , it was probably just to get out of school.
I just want to know why there is an attendance app. Are parents that f-ing lazy that they can’t call a kid in anymore? Get of your asses and parents or you’ll end up with a bunch of libtarded losers like these 10. I’m sure that app is easy for the student to report themselves absent, because that’s a good idea 🤦♀️
Good ‘ol use of taxpayer money. We already pay phone bills; but hey, let’s purchase this app system bc we’re all lazy and need to spend money.
This accomplished nothing! Pathetic! Bring back civics! These kids are being dumbed down by our school systems!
I will say this as many times as I can. Parents need to get their kids OUT of public schools.
Guy guys, don’t post about students doing a good thing or else maga idiots will fill their diapers 🤭
