KENOSHA, Wis. — Republican State Senate candidate Ellen Schutt and Bristol School Board candidate Kevin Weeks will appear at a meet-and-greet event later this month in Kenosha, bringing together supporters and several conservative leaders from across Kenosha County.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. at The Club at Strawberry Creek, located at 14810 72nd Street in Kenosha. Organizers say the gathering will give residents an opportunity to meet Schutt and Weeks in person, hear about their campaign priorities, and discuss issues affecting families and communities in the region.
Schutt previously served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and is seeking to return to Madison following the retirement announcement of longtime State Sen. Steve Nass. During her time in the Legislature, Schutt was known for advocating lower taxes, public safety, and fewer government regulations affecting Wisconsin families and businesses.
After Wisconsin’s legislative maps were redrawn under Gov. Tony Evers, Schutt stepped aside from seeking reelection in order to maintain Republican unity in the newly configured districts. She has since announced her campaign for the State Senate seat being vacated by Nass.
“I’ve always believed public service is about putting people before politics,” Schutt said in a statement announcing the event. “I’m running to fight for lower taxes, safer communities, and the freedoms and opportunities that make Wisconsin a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”
The Kenosha gathering is being hosted by several conservative figures from the area, including Assembly Majority Leader Tyler August, County Board Supervisor Keith Gray, Bristol School Board Member Joanne Gray, former County Board Supervisor Zach Rodriguez, former Silver Lake Trustee Mike Decker, Elinor Decker, Madi Hartwig, Amy and Steve Maurer, and County Board Supervisor and Paddock Lake Trustee John Poole. Wisconsin State Sen. Van Wanggaard is also listed as a host.
Campaign organizers say refreshments, beer, and light snacks will be served. Supporters and voters interested in learning more about the candidates’ campaigns are encouraged to attend.

Nice! Looking forward to it!
Putting a republican in charge of a school district is like asking the French to build a car you’ll get a car but you’re not going to like it
