Kenosha, Wis. – The Kenosha Police Department held a press conference today seeking public assistance in solving the June 14, 2024, homicide of Kenneth “Kenny” Davidson. The 32-year-old Kenosha resident was fatally shot in the 4700 block of 36th Avenue at approximately 9:20 p.m.
Police officials, joined by members of Davidson’s family, gathered at the Kenosha Police Department to renew their plea for information. Lieutenant Joshua Hecker, the department’s public information officer, addressed the media, emphasizing the need for community cooperation in bringing closure to the case.

“We are here to talk about the homicide investigation involving the death of Kenneth Davidson,” Lt. Hecker stated. “Behind me are several members of the Kenosha Police Department, including Chief Patrick Patton, Deputy Chief Joe Labatore, Inspector Brent Sagedal, Detective Bureau Captain James Beller, and Case Detective Brian Wilson. Also joining us are several members of Kenny Davidson’s family, including his mother, Yolanda, sister Kayla, brother Charlie, and family friend Monty.”
Chief Patton took the podium to reiterate the department’s commitment to finding justice for Davidson.
“On June 14th of last year, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 4700 block of 36th Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Kenny Davidson unresponsive in a driveway. Tragically, he died at the scene,” Chief Patton said. “Despite an extensive investigation that included canvassing the neighborhood, speaking to witnesses, and reviewing surveillance footage, we are still seeking additional leads.”
According to Chief Patton, Davidson was back in Kenosha attending a family funeral and had been watching a Boston Celtics game before heading out for a walk with a friend. The unexpected and violent nature of his death has left the community in shock.
“Kenny was a part of this community,” Patton continued. “His death has impacted not only his family but also the entire city. We rely on the support of the public to help solve cases like this, and we urge anyone with information to come forward.”

Davidson’s mother, Yolanda McKenzie, made an emotional appeal to the community, describing her son as a loving, generous man whose presence is irreplaceable.
“It has been almost eight months since my son was killed. The Kenosha Police Department is still investigating, but we need your help,” McKenzie said. “If anyone knows anything—whether you overheard something or have even the smallest piece of information—please come forward. Kenny was more than just my son. He was a brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, father, and friend. He had a contagious laugh and smile, and his loss has left a void in our hearts.”
The Kenosha Police Department has set up a dedicated tip line at 262-605-5201, where callers can leave anonymous tips.
“We want everyone to know that we are still working this case and will not stop until we find justice for Kenny,” Chief Patton concluded. “We need the community’s support to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.”
As the investigation continues, Davidson’s family and law enforcement officials hope that renewed attention will encourage witnesses or those with knowledge of the case to come forward.
