Salem Lakes Village Administrator Cassandra Hiller is hoping that the possible flooding that is being forecasted doesn’t happen. She isn’t, however, leaving anything to chance.

Cassandra – Village Administrator, Village of Salem Lakes

Today, Hiller announced that Village staff are currently working with Kenosha County to make sand and sandbags available at the Wilmot Pit and in Silver Lake at the Fire Station.  “Kenosha County is loading sand now and has sand and unfilled bags ready to go,” said Hiller Tuesday Afternoon. Residents will need to bring their own shovels and load the bags themselves.

The Fox River near New Munster is currently under a flood warning and is expected to crest on Thursday at potentially a major flood stage.
