Kenosha County Board member Andy Berg is being taken to court for allegedly stiffing a contractor who remodeled his home. The 52 year-old Marine Corp Veteran and contractor, Frank Leonard, filed the lawsuit in Kenosha County Circuit Court. A Kenosha Sheriff’s deputy served Berg with the summons last week. According to court documents, Berg hired Leonard to remove all of the plaster and lathe on the top floor of his home and replace it with drywall. Berg later added more and more tasks including framing closets, replacing windows and electrical wires. He is alleging in the suit that Berg paid him $1,600 and still owes him more than $5,000.
We spoke with Leonard and he told us that he believes that Berg’s intention from the beginning was to cheat the contractor. He told us that he did a large amount of work in the home. He told us he didn’t believe Berg pulled any permits for the work. We called the City of Kenosha inspections department and they confirmed that there are no permits on record for the representative’s home. Replacing electrical wiring requires a building permit in the City of Kenosha. Mr. Leonard says he warned Berg that he would sue him if the bill wasn’t paid and Berg stopped responding to his text messages. Leonard wants the money that was agreed upon and he wants to move on.
Judges Kerkman and Wilk were originally assigned the case, but both quickly recused themselves. The matter is now in front of Judge Milisauskas.
Andy Berg is not new to controversy and scandals. According to a statement from the IRS dated 3/30/2021, the agency is in receipt of a complaint listing several violations in regards to his non-profit. He is being accused of withholding tax filings and using non-profit assets for personal, financial gain.
Supervisor Berg is expected to announce his candidacy very soon for Kenosha County Executive. Berg has never won a contested election.
He is due in court on May 20th at 8:30 a.m.

The same berg that has done 6 fundraisers in the last 6 months and still owes back taxes? My god what is his deal!!! Maybe pastor baker and restraining order joe will help him with some money
Berg’s behavior must be coming from the Communist-Democrat playbook. Theses thugs just reach into someone else’s pocket to steal what isn’t theirs and ignore the fact it’s plain wrong to do so. Watch Berg be nominated for “Person of the Year” by one of the local communist-socialist organizations.
