Kenosha Prosecutor Carli McNeill In Court Friday

Kenosha Prosecutor Carli McNeill, in court Friday, gave the public the first details about what happened late Monday. McNeill asked Kenosha County Circuit Court Commissioner William Michel II to allow the DA’s office until Tuesday, June 4, 2024 to file a criminal complaint against Alia. She told the court that the charge she is expecting to issue is “Harboring or Aiding a Felon.” According to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s jail roster, Alia was at one point, holding in the jail for “Homicide by Negligent Handling of a Dangerous Weapon.” According to the roster Sunday, however, the DA’s office did not issue the recommended charge, which was likely recommended as a “party to the crime.”

On May 27th, 2024 a little after 8pm, multiple people heard a gunshot in the home on 36th Ave and several witnesses came to see what happened. They encountered a dead, or dying, 16-year-old male. Investigators on this case learned from several witnesses that Alia and another individual, who was later identified as David Chism, ran from the scene immediately after the shooting occurred. Alia was apprehended in the early morning hours. He gave two interviews to detectived and told them that he and Chism immediately fled the seen and searched for a place to hide. He has informed detectives of what occurred that led to the tragic death. He said he, David Chism, and the victim, were all seated side by side in the home. Alia said Chizm was manipulating a firearm and that he was removing the magazine from the firearm and when he did so the firearm fired one shot, which hit the victim. After they both fled, Alia ended up at a hotel, which KCE knows to be the Holiday Inn. KCE also is aware that there was a warrant executed at a room at the hotel. Alia ditched his phone, which police think contain evidence.

  5. Sad thing is that chism absconded from his probation agent shortly after he was put on probation according to the doc website. If his agent actually did their job a crook would of been off the streets and a 16 year old would of still been alive. I blame the department of correction for dropping the ball on this one.
