
KENOSHA, Wis. – The City of Kenosha is gearing up for another jam-packed Fourth of July celebration with the return of the Celebrate America festival on July 4 and 5, promising two full days of music, food, fireworks, and family fun along the lakefront.
Headlining the festivities is Queen Flash, a six-piece tribute act bringing the legendary music of Queen to life with theatrical flair. Lead singer Johnny Zatyiny, who has channeled Freddie Mercury since 2000, will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. July 4 at Wolfenbuttel Park. The performance leads directly into the Festival Foods Fireworks display at 9:30 p.m., courtesy of pyrotechnics expert The Mad Bomber.
Also on July 4, Boys & Toys, a local favorite known for their high-energy rock show, will close out the Shoreline North Stage lineup with a 7:30 p.m. performance at Third Avenue and 57th Street. Earlier in the day, New Orleans jazz and blues artist Eddie Domino & the Domino Effect will bring the rhythm to the Shoreline South Stage at 2 p.m.
On Saturday, July 5, the festivities continue with Almost Taylor, a Taylor Swift tribute act, performing at 5:30 p.m., and Bad Motor Scooter, a tribute to Sammy Hagar, wrapping up the night at 8 p.m., both at the Shoreline South Stage.
Dozens of bands are scheduled across three stages, including Simply Sound, Under Siege, Front Porch Band, Mid-Century Meltdown, and Exit 147 The Band. The Annex Stage will also host local acts including Jacob & Tim on July 5.
The Rainbow Valley Carnival will offer rides and games from July 3 to July 5, with unlimited rides available from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday with a $25 wristband. Admission is $3 per adult; children 12 and under enter free with a paid adult. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian age 25 or older.
Attendees are encouraged to park downtown and use the city’s free transportation options. The rubber-tired trolley will operate a special route from the transit center to Carthage College between 2 and 11 p.m. on July 4, while the streetcar will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. along HarborPark and other key fireworks viewing areas.
Celebrate America is supported by Festival Foods, Happenings Magazine, Kenosha County, and other community partners. Admission is free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
