She was later identified as 30-year-old Mitchell. The suspect, Timmy Brooks turned himself in later that day at the request of his mother. He confessed. Defense attorney Chad Shamali acknowledged the seriousness of the crimes his client committed, but argued for parole eligibility, noting that Brooks turned himself in, gave a confession and pleaded guilty, waiving his constitutional right to a jury trial. Schamali also said the Brooks had mental health issues. He said that if released, Brooks would give his life to God.

Kenosha Circuit Court Judge Gerald Dougvillo first apologized to the family and friends of the victim. “There is nothing that I’m going to do. There’s nothing that I’m going to say that will put you back in the position that you deserve to be in. And that is to have Ms. Mitchell here with you.” Dougvillo then detailed Brooks’ criminal history and noted all of the chances Brooks had to address his mental health issues. “You had the chances to do what God expected of you, and you have opted to walk away from all of this,” said Dougvillo. “This wasn’t senseless. This was callus, cold, and heartless. This wasn’t a momentary decision….. because if it was, it would have been one shot. But it wasn’t. As laid out by the state here, this was one shot to the back of her head, and she went to the ground. There was no threat to you….” at this time Brooks interrupted yelling “Man you gonna give me life!” The six deputies in the room, got closer the Brooks and the Judge continued. “And you fired not one, but two more shots.”

Dougvillo then gave Brooks the maximum sentence allowed under the law.

Although Brooks apologized to the victim and her family, he looked back at them many times throughout the hearing to smile and mock them. The deputies, under the command of Lt. Gilley, however did a good job of shielding him from their view.

After court was adjourned and Brooks was being brought back to the jail, he later yelled at the family members saying “I could have got two life sentences, I don’t care!”

    1. That’s just an excuse. He wasn’t possessed. He’s just a worthless POS that doesn’t care about anything or anyone but himself. He needs to be put down like a vicious dog, because that’s what he is.

  1. I’m confident that in 20 years, Governor Mandela Barnes can release him without notifying the victims family and no one will know about it.

  2. I wish with each criminal charge it would be mandated to post the suspects last 5 years of W2’s on the circuit court page. So we all can see how much of a societal contribution we’d all be slighted in their absence…….

  3. Gravely actually in court !!! Doing the job he was elected to do ! of course it was a slam dunk and a non BLM member .

  4. All your grandparents AND YOU GUYS WILL ROT IN HELL right along with Brooks. NO ONE IS MORE EVIL THEN THE WHITE MAN
