We were recently tipped off about the OWI arrest of a Pleasant Prairie Police officer in Michigan. We investigated and substantiated the tip. According to the State of Michigan Criminal Justice Center, Officer Jaden Kleinke was arrested for OWI on December 26, 2020 in the City of Menominee, MI
Chief Smetana Responds
The Kenosha County Eye reached out to Chief Smetana and he told us he was notified of the arrest the day after the arrest. Smetana placed Kleinke on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. He is also awaiting the conclusion of the Michigan court case. Smetana told us “These allegations are troubling to our agency. We work diligently to live up to our mission of providing professional, competent, and compassionate service and to earn the trust of the community we serve. The allegations in this situation are not in line with that mission statement.”
It is unknown when Kleinke is due in court but we will update as we learn new information.

Some PPPD are absolute dicks (every department has them) but I like Smetana. Would KCSD or KPD have even replied to you about this? Probably not.
Good point. KPD is good about talking, Sheriff Beth doesn’t unless it is a fluff piece from the local rag
