Detective Tim Hackbarth of the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department is the President of the Kenosha County Deputy Sheriff Association. He organized the 31st annual “Shop With A Deputy” program this morning at 8:00 am. This is Hackbarth’s 15th time organizing the event, which took place at Meijer in Kenosha. About 38 kids got to spend $250 on anything they wanted. They also each got a $100 gift card for groceries at Meijer for their families. “Comfort 4 A Cause” was back and gave each child a bag, quilt, stuffed animal, candy, and an activity.
There is nothing as sweet and inspiring as seeing a 6-year-old little girl named Brooklyn use part of her money to buy her mom a dress.
There is nothing as sweeter than seeing a 7-year-old named Niah run towards Deputy Jeanean Keske becuase she wanted to shop with her again. Niah was at last year’s “Shop With A Deputy.”
It was a beautiful event by a great organization. Please enjoy videos and photos from today’s event. Photos are available for anyone to download at not cost and no need for photo credit,
Merry Christmas!

Great pictures Greater Cause !
Let’s remember “Peace on Earth”
Very nice photos and a great effort every year.
Let’s not forget that Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie and Twin Lakes officers also do the same thing every year. Kudos to them, too.
I have been lucky to have been invited by the Deputy Sheriff Association every year. If I’m invited by the other two, I will happily cover them 🙂
Hope they rectify that oversight. As your pics demonstrate the officers seem to have as much fun as the kids.
I can’t imagine covering one of these feel-good fests, let alone three of them.
Thank you so much for your wonderful pictures and article.
God Bless our police officers! ❤
What wonderful pictures and such a great and heartwarming event! God bless all these wonderful officers!
Thank you and Merry Christmas to all of our wonderful LEO’s !!!
It’s great to see the Deputies participate and show the community their human side. It’s great for kids to be up close to deputies and recognize them as people who are giving and helpful. I hope the families who received these gifts go out and tell the neighborhood the good that was done. Meijer’s has been great in helping KPD, PPPD and KSD in this endeavor. I’m sure Fredrick Meijer (if alive) would be happy to see the community coming together. Merry Christmas to all of the deputies and officers in Kenosha County
