On Friday night, Lainey Wilson took to the stage at Country Thunder Wisconsin in Twin Lakes as Friday night’s headliner. The 32-year-old county music artist and actress took the stage at 10:00 pm and played more than a dozen songs for many thousands of fans.
According to Wilson’s website:
GRAMMY® -award-winning and multi-PLATINUM singer songwriter and actress Lainey Wilson has garnered enthusiasm across industries. With her first-ever GRAMMY® win for “Best Country Album,” and as the reigning CMA and ACM “Entertainer of the Year,” Wilson is one of the very few artists to ever win “Country Album of The Year,” at the CMA’s, ACM’s and GRAMMY®’s. From being named “Female Country Artist of The Year” at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards and taking home “County Song of the Year” with “Heart Like A Truck” at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Wilson has been crowned one of music’s hottest and most buzzed-about artists.
Beginning her journey to stardom 12 years ago in a camper trailer, after leaving her small-town farming community in Baskin, Louisiana, Wilson has redefined the genre and amplified the Country music scene as we know it. Blending the traditional Country sound with a modern yet retro flare, Wilson’s signature Bell Bottom Country style has led to her induction into the Grand Ole Opry, as well as being bestowed with Billboard’s Country Power Players “Record Breaker” award which celebrated her ability to defy the traditional norms and conventions of the Country music genre, solidifying her status as a next-generation icon.
A prolific and sought-after songwriter to her core, (having co-writer credits on songs by artists including Luke Combs, Flatland Calvary, Ashley McBryde, and more), Wilson delivered CMA-nominated album of the year with her label debut, Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin.’ She then landed her first No. 1 radio hit with PLATINUM Certified ACM Song of the Year, “Things A Man Oughta Know,” and has since secured seven No. 1 songs to date, including “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” “Watermelon Moonshine,” 2x PLATINUM Certified “Heart Like A Truck,” and her collaborations with Cole Swindell on “Never Say Never,” Jelly Roll on “Save Me,” and HARDY on “wait in the truck,” Wilson has become the lead female artist with the most No.1’s this decade along with two GRAMMY® nominations, nine ACM awards, seven CMA awards and becoming an official member of the Grand Ole Opry,
Making her acting debut in Season 5 of Paramount’s revered hit series “Yellowstone,” Wilson played a musician character named Abby, where she premiered her original song “Smell Like Smoke” as well as showcasing other hits off her Bell Bottom Country album including “Watermelon Moonshine” and “Hold My Halo.”
Wilson’s on-stage performances have supported her spectacular rise to stardom across the board drawing in the masses with career milestone sets, from Australia, UK, and Europe to highly coveted music festivals such as, Stagecoach, Lollapalooza, and Watershed. Wilson is currently embarking on her sophomore headlining “Country’s Cool Again” North American tour throughout the rest of the year. Pre-order/pre-save/pre-add her highly anticipated forthcoming record, Whirlwind, out August 23rd and listen to her current single “Hang Tight Honey,” out everywhere now.
Playing just before Wilson was Kip Moore. According to Wikipedia:
Kip Christian Moore (born April 1, 1980) is an American country music singer and songwriter signed to MCA Nashville. He has released five studio albums for the label and has charted a total of twelve entries on Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay including the number-one “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck” and four additional top-ten hits. He has also written songs for Frankie Ballard, Thompson Square, and James Wesley.

Some nice shots, especially of Ms. Wilson.
The shots of Ms. Wilson are well composed and lit. She looks great — better than 99% of the photos Kevin posts here.
