Kenosha, Wis. — A Kenosha man is facing multiple felony charges following a high-speed pursuit over the weekend that resulted in injuries to a sheriff’s deputy.
Tomas D. Scott, 22, appeared in Kenosha County Circuit Court Monday after prosecutors filed a four-count criminal complaint against him stemming from a March 22 traffic stop in the Village of Somers. The charges include first-degree recklessly endangering safety, resisting an officer causing injury, fleeing an officer resulting in bodily harm, and obstructing an officer.
If convicted on all counts, Scott faces more than 28 years in prison.
According to the criminal complaint, a Kenosha County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over Scott shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday for driving with a suspended license and expired registration tags. When the deputy asked Scott to step out of the vehicle, he allegedly refused and sped off, dragging the deputy a short distance before the officer fell to the pavement and sustained abrasions and soft tissue injuries.
A second deputy later pursued Scott at speeds approaching 100 miles per hour before the vehicle stopped near an apartment complex. Scott then fled on foot through a wooded area and along railroad tracks. He was eventually taken into custody after a brief struggle, during which a second deputy suffered minor injuries.
Scott reportedly told officers he fled because he was scared.

In addition to the felony charges, Scott received citations for operating while suspended, driving without insurance, and operating a vehicle after registration suspension.
Kenosha County Circuit Court Commissioner William Michel II set bail at $25,000 cash during Scott’s initial appearance. Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis was present in court for the hearing.
Scott remains in custody. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 28.

Stop chasing these idiots before a cop and civilians get major injuries or killed!!!!! They have flock cameras everywhere now. They tell exactly where and what direction they going. This ain’t the Dukes of Hazzard in Kenosha county!!!!!
No, the Flock cameras aren’t “everywhere.” Second, how about putting some responsibility on the criminal that chooses to run!
Or stop running from the damn cops!!! It’s not hard..
Follow the damn rules
yes Quentin, when the bad guys run we should just let them get away. Then they can commit more crimes.
Then Quintin will be bitching in the comments of those crimes that we aren’t doing enough to catch them.
I drive like an idiot every day and I don’t give no shits about any of you. I’ll run you off the road. My vehicle is better than yours and I am better than you.
