Kenosha Woman Charged Again for Stealing Family’s Car While Out on Bail for Doing the Same

Kristy R. Delaney, 36, of Kenosha, WI

Kenosha, Wis. – A 36-year-old Kenosha woman remains in the county jail on a $7,500 cash bail after being charged with stealing her daughter’s car over the weekend—despite already being out on bail for a similar car theft involving her own mother just months earlier.

Kristy R. Delaney now faces a total of ten new charges in a case filed Monday, including five felony counts of bail jumping, misdemeanor bail jumping, misdemeanor theft, operating while revoked, and another count of driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent. If convicted of all charges, she faces a maximum sentence of more than 33 years in prison and $92,500 in fines.

According to the latest criminal complaint, Delaney was staying overnight at her daughter’s home on April 20, 2025, to celebrate Easter. The following morning, her daughter reported that her 2014 Kia Forte and her purse—containing $50 and credit cards—were missing. She told police Delaney had taken the keys in the middle of the night without permission and drove off.

Police located the vehicle later that day outside a known drug house in the 900 block of 42nd Street in Kenosha. Delaney emerged from the residence and admitted to driving the vehicle while her license was revoked due to a prior OWI conviction. She was arrested at the scene.

The criminal complaint also details that Delaney had active warrants in three other open Kenosha County criminal cases at the time of her arrest. In two of those cases—24CF1264 and 25CF101—she had recently failed to appear for court on April 4, resulting in bond forfeitures and bench warrants. All three bonds had standard conditions prohibiting her from committing new crimes.

This latest arrest echoes another pending case against Delaney from August 2024, in which she allegedly stole her mother’s Buick Encore and purse, then used stolen credit cards at two gas stations. Police later found her with the car and a marijuana joint. She admitted to taking the vehicle because she “didn’t feel like” returning it. That earlier case includes a felony count of operating a vehicle without consent and two misdemeanors: possession of THC and operating while revoked. Those charges carry a maximum sentence of five years and six months in prison and $13,500 in fines.

If convicted on all charges in both cases, Delaney faces a combined maximum of 39 years in prison and $106,000 in fines.

As of Monday, she had not posted bail and remains in custody at the Kenosha County Jail. Her next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.

  1. So here is a good question….why is there a known fucking drug house in the city that hasn’t been shut down?

Maybe the cops should be attending less fucking seminars on fighting crime and, I don’t know, actually fighting the crime?

    1. Oh- let’s not forget, the Kenosha city council lowered the THC at home to a $1.00 fine..
They “don’t want” police to enforce marijuana laws anymore. Imagine if Jacob Blake were shot for an ordinance violation that carried a $1.00 fine. Yes- $1.00 us currency
