KENOSHA, Wis. — A 58-year-old Kenosha man is facing three criminal charges after allegedly running through a neighborhood in his underwear and trying to force his way into a stranger’s home while screaming profanities.
Phillipp Schiavi was in court Thursday, June 20, and charged with felony bail jumping, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct. Kenosha County Court Commissioner William Michel set bail at $1,500 cash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 2.
According to police, Schiavi was seen around 8 p.m. on June 12 wearing only underwear and one sock while yelling in the street near 73rd Street and 41st Avenue. A witness told dispatch that Schiavi was trying to enter a home at 7113 41st Avenue.
The homeowner, Harry Moore Jr., later told police that he and his wife were sitting on their porch when they saw Schiavi behaving erratically. They went inside, but Schiavi allegedly followed and began banging loudly on their porch door. Moore said he retrieved a firearm and pointed it at Schiavi, who then started pounding on the front door of the house.
Moore described the banging as so forceful he feared the glass would break. He said he did not know Schiavi and never gave him permission to enter the property.
When officers arrived, they found Schiavi shirtless and sweating profusely. He was detained and later transported to Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital for evaluation, as police believed he may have been under the influence of drugs and in a manic state.
At the time of the incident, Schiavi was out on bond for a felony drug charge filed last October. His bond conditions in that case prohibited him from committing any new crimes.
If convicted on all counts, Schiavi faces over six years in prison.
