KENOSHA, Wis. – A 46-year-old convicted child sex offender is facing new felony charges after allegedly confronting a man with a handgun outside his residence early Monday morning.

Jesse L. Miracle was formally charged Tuesday in Kenosha County Circuit Court with possession of a firearm by a felon, disorderly conduct with a dangerous weapon, and possession of a firearm while intoxicated. All three charges carry repeater enhancers due to his extensive criminal history.
Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered Miracle held on a $20,000 cash bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 3.
According to the criminal complaint, Kenosha Police responded to a weapons complaint around 12:45 a.m. Monday in the 2500 block of 66th Street. A man told officers that Miracle had brandished a handgun during a confrontation over loud music.
The victim told officers he had pulled over to check on a mechanical issue with his BMW when Miracle approached his window and told him to leave. After a brief exchange of words, Miracle allegedly returned moments later holding a black handgun. The man said he feared for his safety and immediately drove off and called police.
Police located Miracle nearby. He allegedly denied having a gun and claimed he had consumed seven beers. Officers later recovered a loaded 9mm handgun with a defaced serial number hidden under a garbage can at Miracle’s residence. A live round was also found inside his apartment.
Miracle is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a 2005 conviction for second-degree sexual assault of a child. He was sentenced to just four years in prison for that Class C felony. Since then, he has racked up multiple convictions for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements, most recently in 2024.
If convicted of the current charges with repeater enhancements, Miracle faces more than 18 years in prison.
