KENOSHA, Wis. – A Pleasant Prairie man is facing felony stalking and multiple misdemeanor charges after police say he repeatedly harassed a woman, sat outside her home, and was found with marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Brandon R.J. Gutierrez, 20, appeared in Kenosha County Circuit Court Monday, where he was formally charged with felony stalking, disorderly conduct, possession of THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered $5,000 cash bail and scheduled a preliminary hearing for Aug. 7.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman contacted Kenosha police on Saturday night reporting that Gutierrez, the father of her son, was sitting in a blue Toyota RAV4 outside her home and she wanted him trespassed. She told officers he had texted earlier saying he had cut himself and had previously attempted suicide. She said he called her 63 times in 24 hours, left six voicemails — one stating he would sit in front of her house all night — and used Facebook Messenger and other numbers after she blocked his phone.
When officers arrived, they found Gutierrez in the SUV with a baseball bat within reach. Police say he was uncooperative and told an officer he was on the phone. The odor of marijuana led to a search of the vehicle, where officers reportedly found marijuana, a broken glass pipe, a grinder, a roach, an empty pre-rolled blunt tube, and a THC vape pen. The marijuana weighed 0.44 grams and tested positive, according to the complaint.
