KENOSHA, Wis. – A Kenosha man is facing serious felony charges in Kenosha County after prosecutors say he assaulted a woman and restricted her movement during a violent confrontation.

(Kenosha County Sheriff)
Silvio Enrique Estrada-Estrada, 28, appeared in court Friday where he was charged with strangulation and suffocation, false imprisonment, and battery. According to the criminal complaint, Kenosha police responded after a woman reported that Estrada-Estrada had attacked her during an argument. She told officers that he struck her, placed his hands around her throat, and kept her from leaving.
Investigators noted injuries consistent with her account. Police documented redness on her neck and other visible marks, according to the complaint. She said she was in fear for her safety during the incident.
Estrada-Estrada denied parts of the accusations but admitted there was a physical confrontation. Officers reported that he was uncooperative during portions of the investigation.
Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered Estrada-Estrada held on $10,000 cash bail, citing his out-of-state residence and the violent nature of the allegations. Prosecutors also noted his history of contacts with law enforcement.
The complaint indicates Estrada-Estrada was also cited for disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer in addition to the felony counts. The state argued those charges demonstrated a pattern of aggressive behavior.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 29, 2025. If convicted of the top count of strangulation and suffocation, Estrada-Estrada faces up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
