KENOSHA, Wis. — A 21-year-old Kenosha man is facing serious felony charges after police say he possessed multiple illegal videos involving minors, some of which were discovered through cyber tips from a major tech company.
Brendan R. McGee was formally charged Wednesday in Kenosha County Circuit Court with nine counts of possession of child pornography. Each charge is a Class D felony and carries a potential sentence of up to 25 years in prison. Prosecutors also plan to seek lifetime supervision if he is convicted, labeling the case a serious sex offense under state law.
According to the criminal complaint, the investigation began in January when Google submitted two separate cyber tips to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The reports flagged a series of files uploaded using an account later traced to McGee. Police confirmed that the email address and phone number associated with the tips belonged to him, and the uploads were linked to his home internet connection on 65th Street.

Detectives from the Kenosha Police Department obtained a search warrant, which was executed early Tuesday morning. Detective Pete Deates and his partner, K9 Iris — an electronic storage detection dog — assisted in the operation. Several digital storage devices were recovered from McGee’s bedroom, including a phone that allegedly contained illegal content. A laptop, thumb drives, hard drives, and other devices were also collected as evidence.
In a recorded interview with law enforcement, McGee admitted that he had used a chat website and an encrypted messaging app to receive video files, some of which he described as involving underage individuals. He told detectives that he believed certain files violated the law and acknowledged that he continued to access such material even after his online accounts were shut down by the service provider. McGee estimated he had viewed between 60 and 80 videos, though he denied ever distributing them.
Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered a $100,000 cash bail during McGee’s initial appearance on Wednesday afternoon. Assistant District Attorney Sarah Norkus appeared for the State and emphasized the seriousness of the charges. McGee remains in custody at the Kenosha County Jail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 26 at 8:30 a.m. If convicted on all nine counts, McGee could face a total of 225 years in prison, along with mandatory surcharges and at least three years of initial confinement per charge, but judges in Kenosha County usually run the prison terms concurrently.

Sadly he will be out with a slap on the wrist.
It’s so nice to know that you can predict the future and the outcomes
Why can’t the government shut these sites down? I do not understand why they exist in this day and age . Kevin, can you find out why they are not eing shut down?
Because it’s probably being hosted in a foreign country and their government is quite happy to look the other way as long as they get paid from the revenue.
I’m not sure who looks droopier, the defendant or the dog.
The dog is probably smarter than you..
Dont pick on the dog!!! You would be simply amazed to see these dogs in action!
That dog looks like he’s sniffed too much glue. Also, I doubt he’s reading, so he won’t be offended. I would, however, like to know his error rate.
When I was a kid we would watch scrambled Cinemax late Friday night hoping to see a one second glimpse of tittys and paid older kids 1000% mark ups for old playboys.
Now you every porn MOVIE in the palm of your (other) hand the day your first pube sprouts.
