KENOSHA, Wis. — Dominic A. Pruitt, 39, was in court and charged today with criminal trespass and battery, both as repeaters, stemming from a July 27 incident on the city’s south side. Cash bail was set at $2,500, and he is due back in Kenosha County Circuit Court on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.

According to the criminal complaint, a male resident reported that Pruitt entered his home without consent around 3:45 p.m. and said he was looking for missing property. The complaint states Pruitt then struck the resident several times with a closed fist and kicked him as the resident tried to shield himself, before leaving when he realized police had been called.
The complaint indicates the confrontation happened at a residence in the 3600 block of 18th Avenue and that the resident fled outside to get help. It further states that Pruitt later acknowledged going to the home to retrieve property, which investigators say did not belong to him.
Prosecutors filed two Class A misdemeanor counts—criminal trespass and battery—with repeater enhancers based on a prior Kenosha County drug conviction from 2021. Because of the repeater allegation, the maximum possible penalty on the top count increases to up to two years of imprisonment, and the underlying Class A misdemeanor carries a fine of up to $10,000.
His next court date is set for Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.
