KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. — Nathan L. Loeding, 26, of Kenosha, was sentenced Friday in Kenosha County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to fleeing from a state trooper during a high-speed pursuit that reached at least 130 miles per hour, according to court records.
Loeding originally faced a felony charge of second-degree recklessly endangering safety after a January 3, 2024 incident on Interstate 94 in Pleasant Prairie. Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper Alex Lintner reported clocking Loeding’s red Dodge Charger at 100 to 101 miles per hour in a 70-mph zone. Lintner said the car accelerated past 130 mph, weaving through traffic in what appeared to be an attempt to elude him. The Charger’s engine failed and left an oil trail before coming to a stop at the Highway 50 off-ramp. Loeding was taken into custody without further incident.
Prosecutors later amended the reckless endangerment charge to felony fleeing/eluding an officer. Loeding pleaded guilty to that count and to another felony in a separate case (2025CF398), while numerous traffic cases were dismissed as part of the plea deal.
At sentencing on September 19, Judge Heather Iverson ordered Loeding to serve two years in the Wisconsin State Prison system for the fleeing charge — one year of initial confinement followed by one year of extended supervision. He was deemed eligible for both the Challenge Incarceration Program and the Substance Abuse Program.
In the second felony case, the court withheld sentence and placed him on one year of probation, concurrent with the prison term, and ordered him to pay a $300 fine. Several related traffic cases were dismissed. Loeding was taken into custody directly from the courtroom.
He must also pay court costs, submit a DNA sample, and was advised of firearm and voting restrictions. The court noted that Loeding may seek expunction upon successful completion of his sentence.
Altogether, Loeding faced a maximum penalty of 3½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine for the felony fleeing charge, and up to 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine for the original reckless endangerment charge that was amended.
